Great list, Monte. I think you covered my list. There are 2 or 3 there I've not read and will be checking out.

I also like "Scaredy Dog! Understanding and Rehabilitating Your Reactive Dog " by Ali Brown.

The other place to gather info is a good psych textbook!

Hey Benny!

How could I have forgotten that one?

I think it's because it's temporarily loaned out to a pal, so it's not on the book shelf with all the others.

Thanks for posting, because that is a WONDERFUL book.

I just read For the Love of a Dog: Understanding Emotion in You and Your Best Friend by Patricia McConnell and really learned a lot. There was quite a bit to pertain to fearful dogs and that was really helpful for our situation. I read The Other End of the Leash last summer but need to re-read it -- at the time I had 3 "normal" laugh out loud dogs so not as much of it sunk in. I also just re-read Fiesty Fido - good length you can read it in one sitting!

I am anxious to read some of the other books you pups have mentioned!

I enjoyed *The Other End of the Leash*, Patricia McConnell. It left me hungry for more of her material. She will be in Louisville this coming October and I would love for the Clinic send me there. Wouldn't that be awesome!!
Recently I read *Who moved my Bone*, Teresa Mancuso. This is an interesting guide to managing multiple dog households, although I would have liked to see her tell a few more corrective stories and focused less on the more generally known information.
I really liked the new Monks of New Skete book, Divine Canine. I know that many trainers these days frown on the Monks and Cesar Milan, et al, however, even though the techniques may be rougher, the knowledge they have about the dogs mind is incredible. And both have recanted some of thier earlier training methods and now use the Positive and more acceptable styles.
The truth is I used to train differently also. Ask Tessa!!
Bones would rain from the Sky - excellent!!
The Dog Who Loved too Much - Nicholas Dodman
I have some older books as well that I keep returning to...
The Dogs Mind, Bruce Fogle
The Intelligence of Dogs, Stanley Coren
The Canine Good Citizen, The Volhards
Never Cry Wolf, Farley Mowat
and John Cree's, Understanding the GSD.
I have numerous other books in my library but those seem to be the ones I keep re-reading or refer to.
As soon as my classes are completed, tests and all, I will order another batch of books from the suggested reading here.
