September 28, 2008: FIN

Breed: American Bulldog
Gender: Male
Age: 5 months old
Location: Adoptable within 150 miles of Arizona

Forum Thread Posting dated September 26, 2008

STORY: Fin was rescued from a very abusive situation at the tender age of 7.5 weeks. Fin was given medical care that saved his life and transported to our local shelter pending trial against his previous owners. 3 months later his previous owner lost him and was sentenced to jail for animal cruelty. Fin then became adoptable. Unfortunately Fin spent his small puppy months in lock down. When he finally became adoptable he was no longer a small little 8 week old pup so he was over looked. Many people also stereotyped Fin because of his breed and held his previous abuse against him. Fin sat in the shelter until his time was up. He was scheduled to be euthanized Sept 26, 2008 at 6pm to make room for more "adoptable" pups. Mom stepped in and has brought him here until we can find him an amazing home to call his furever!way to go

October 5, 2008: MARLEY

Breed: Black Labrador Retriever
Gender: Female
Age: 1 year old
Location: Iowa

Forum Thread Posting dated October 3, 2008

STORY: Marley came to me as a stray. She has been with me for a year. Marley loves to chase a tennis ball or chew on a bone. She is friendly with everyone, although she will bark at a newcomer until you say it is ok. Marley will tolerate anything coming from my 2 year old. She is very smart, a quick learner, and loves to chase birds in our yard. I do not know if she is gun-shy, but she has potential to be a great bird dog.

I hate to find Marley a home, but I just don't have enough time to spend with her. Taking her to the shelter is not an option and I don't want to list her on craigslist or the newspaper. So, please, if you are interesting in meeting Marley respond to this. We are located in Iowa and willing to travel to meet the right person.hug

October 12, 2008: AUTUMN

Breed: Rat Terrier
Gender: Female
Age: 1 year old
Location: Buford, GA

Forum Thread Posting dated October 4, 2008

STORY: Ms. Autumn is a wonderfully special girl who is petite in size, but big in heart. She was tied to a tree when animal control picked her up. Her time was up at the shelter and was very afraid of that environment, so much so she would just shake. Autumn is about 1 year old, 11 to 12 lbs and is working on adding a few pounds to her delicate frame. Once in a foster home she warmed right up with lots of snuggles and kisses. Autumn enjoys playing with tennis balls and squeaky balls. She will run an get them and then hoard them on the couch until you throw one again. She meets new dogs with ease and loves all humans both big and small. She takes everything in stride and listens to voice correction when bossing the other Rat Terriers in her home. She is still learning to play with other dogs how they play, but will learn in no time. She has not had a potty accident and will use the dog door as needed. When its time to be crated she will go right in and not make a peep. She enjoys going wherever you go and is a great car rider. Autumn is looking for a loving home who enjoys playing ball, going for walks, get puppy kisses and snuggle when watching TV. To learn more about this amazing rattie girl visit the link below...

October 19, 2008: JULIAN

Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier/American Bulldog
Gender: Male
Age: 2 years old
Location: Adoptable within 100 miles of Austin, TX (Exceptions are made within 200 miles of Austin)

Forum Thread Posting

STORY: In October 2006, when Jullian was only four weeks old, he was confiscated by Round Rock, TX animal control as part of a cruelty seizure, along with three adult dogs and eleven other puppies. The owner/breeder admitted she had starved and drowned puppies she couldn't sell. For four of Jullian's six litter mates, help came too late. Despite the efforts of animal control and their veterinarians, they didn't survive. In November 2006, after the dogs were awarded to the city, Jullian and his sister Jillian were transferred to Jack's Angels. Sadly, his sister contracted parvo virus and passed away, making Jullian the sole survivor of his litter. One year later, Jullian is still a healthy, happy puppy and still searching for a forever family.

October 26, 2008: ROSIE

Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier/American Bulldog
Gender: Female
Age: 1 year old
Location: Adoptable within 50 miles of Inkster, MI

SPECIAL NEED: She is Deaf

Forum Thread Posting on Friday, October 24, 2008

STORY: We took Rosie into our home in june 2008. She came from an extremely neglectful situation, being left to her own resources in a screened porch with only food and water provided to her. We are her third home in her short life. Rosie came to us with no house manners or boundaries, but she is very smart and is learning her commands quickly with positive treat reward training. She blended in to home life very quickly, and her manners have undergone an overhaul- she is a wonderful house dog! She learned quickly what to chew and what not to chew, where is OK to crash, how to handle food sitting out (although she is a counter surfer when you're not around).

Rosie is a sweet and loving dog looking for her perfect match. Her new home should allow her to be the only pet. She an the other female dog in the household are extremely incompatible, and they have bitten each other. It is likely they will never get along well enough to be safe together. Rosie gets along well with the male boxer mix, though. Adding her to a home with another dog may or may not work out. She would likely chase cats. We had a trainer come in and help us work through some of her hangups. Rosie's dislikes are other female dogs, some strangers, some dogs while walking, some small children. Rosie's likes are playing fetch, chewing tough bones, walks (outside or on treadmill), car rides, some strangers, some small children, her people and evening snuggles. She is 100% potty trained, crate trained and trained to walk/jog on a treadmill. Her new home must be willing to continue her training with a kind and loving hand. She is learning quickly to do all the silly dog stuff like shake, crawl and just her basic commands. She is a high energy dog and does best with at least one good walk or jog daily, either outside or on a treadmill and lots of play time. I am confident she would make a great pet in a home where she can be the only dog. If there are children in her new home, they should be older and willing to train with her. If the girls were able to live together peacefully, she would have a forever home here with us. Please check your local laws regarding pitbull mixes.

Rosie is an American Bulldog and possibly pit or boxer mix. She has the look of a pitbull type dog, but is a bit taller. Be sure pit mixes are allowed in your area before responding. See her petfinder page at : http://www.petfinder.com/petnote/d isplaypet.cgi?petid=12197731 She is being listed by the rescue group, but I am handling her adoption personally. Thanks for looking at Rosie!hug

November 3, 2008: HANDSOME HANZO

Breed: Shiba Inu
Gender: Male
Age: 5 years old
Location: Scranton, PA

SPECIAL NEED: He is three legged and is better suited as the only pup in the home but he likes cats!

Forum Thread Posting on Saturday, November 1, 2008

STORY: Hanzo was pulled from a kill shelter on 10/27/08. He is a 3-legged Shiba Inu, estimated 4-6 years old. He isn't very friendly with dogs... yet smile but he is great with people who respect his boundaries and OK with cats. He is not an ideal dog for children under 12.

Now, I'm fostering him independently until a foster home opens up in the nearest breed rescue in my region. I hope to find him the best forever home as soon as we can - but we're going to have to find some very special people to adopt him.

November 9, 2008: PACO

Breed: Chihuahua Mix
Gender: Male
Age: 2 years old
Location: Las Vegas, NV

SPECIAL NEED: He is blind in his left eye as a result of being attacked by another dog.

STORY: We got Paco about a year ago...we where told he was a pure Chihuahua...but as you can see by his size that he is not....because we live in an apt. we decided to find him a new home due to him needing more space. He was placed with a very loving family...but after a year they decided that they no longer wanted him frown So we gladly took him back into our home. But again we are unable to keep him frown

While with his new family he was attacked by a male Rottweiler and is now blind in his left eye. He is a very sweet and loving boy. He was abused by his first owner frown But we have worked with him and he is doing so much better from when we first brought him into our home. He is great with kids "doesn't like to be smothered though", great with other dogs and even gets along with cats.hug

Gender: Male
Age: 1 year old
Location: Adoptable within 75 miles of WI

Forum Thread Posting on Sunday, November 13, 2008

STORY: Budda is a year old. He is your typical puppy. He loves people, gets very excited to see them, jumping up on them. He also seems to love other dogs. His biggest issue is that he needs training, and socialization. He has been going to doggie daycare with our two pups, and loves it. He wants to be wherever the action is, with the humans or the other pups.

November 30, 2008: PEPPY

Breed: Miniature Pinscher
Gender: Male
Age: 9 years old
Location: Western Kentucky

Forum Thread Posting on Sunday, November 25, 2008

STORY: Peppy loves people. He's very friendly. He loves attention. His owner, my grandmother, is 84 years old and now unable to care for him properly.

He's a neutered male min pin. He's partially housebroken. I think he could be fully housebroken if someone that knows how to housebreak a dog worked with him. She hasn't really tried to housebreak him.
