STORY: The owner received Key as a gift from her live-in boyfriend at the time. She knew she could not raise a puppy alone but with the help of her boyfriend, it was possible. The boyfriend became and EX and had the nerve to just pack his stuff up when she was not home one day and take Key to the SPCA without her knowledge!!!! She was mortified when she found this out and made him get Key back. She knew she still could not keep him and raise him on her own but she did not want him in a shelter. So she has taken the task of trying to find a furever family for this sweet boy. Please take a look and see if you or any pup can find some space in your heart for him. He is good with kids, dogs and cats!

STORY: Bee Gee originated from either a puppy mill or backyard breeder. She was crated all the time so they are now working on her housetraining successfully. She is still a puppy so she should learn quickly! She is good with kids and other dogs. She has been available for adoption since October 25, 2007.
I want to post this message that Misty posted a few days back to try and save some pups from an untimely death. There are only a few days left to help them so if anyone can reach out and save these sweet pups, please do!

STEWIE
Breed: Pit Bull Terrier
Age: Young adult
Gender: Male
Size: Medium
altered, hasShots,
Pure bred am pit bull terrier.
He was a tether dog outside his whole life.
Betty says he is a lover but really strong.
The owner surrendered him because the neighbors kept hassling them about having a pit.
Another nice dog has lost his home due to breed discrimination.
Very loving; loves attention; sweet; didn’t jump on others too much; medium energy.
approximately 2 years old.
Stewie is in a kill shelter.
Mandatory euth point is 50 dogs or 36 cats, so she can be killed when the shelter population reaches euth point.
Due to her breed, she is considered “less adoptable” and will be high on the euth list when the shelter fills up.
Their only hope is rescue.
Additionally, we cannot release pits/bullies to OH rescues due to the recent supreme court ruling
in OH allowing discrimination against pitbulls simply because of their breed irregardless of temperament.
Stewie is sponsored and will be getting vetted soon.
Rescues, once he is vetted, he can go to rescue at no charge.
Brought in by dog warden.
female; medium energy jumps on people.
shorthaired; mostly white, not spayed.
still young; 9 months-1 year, underweight.
Boxer/Dalmatian/Pit mix.
Paula is sponsored and will be getting vetted soon.
Rescues, once she is vetted, she can go to rescue at no charge.

STORY: This little guy was spotted while MPR volunteers were at the shelter to rescue other dogs. Our program was very full but how could we ever leave him behind? One of our foster homes offered to take him even though she already has several pets. She too believed that Drizzle was way too cute to leave at the shelter to die.
One look at this face and you will fall in love. He has the sweetest eyes and is waiting to be loved!

STORY: Charlie was found on the streets and noone claimed him. An older but very sweet, long-legged and lanky min pin, who is sweet as sweet can be. All he wants is attention and love. He just had a dental, and had his shots at the shelter from whence he came. He's all of 7.5 lbs, and 10 years old (DOB 9/1/1997). He's thin and, though active, he's rather fragile with his small frame, so no small children, but with everybody else he's a little lovebug. He really would like to find a home again and have his own person ever ready to hold him in his or her lap.

STORY: I am only 6 lbs and I am in pretty bad shape. I was found wandering the streets by animal control. It's been a long time since someone really took care of me. I have lost most of my hair down my back temporarily due to bad nutrition, skin irritation and heartworms. I was running a temperature due to the heat of my body fighting off the skin irritation on my back.
I was brought to my foster mom's home where I have been bathed in special soap and cleaned up. She says I have to go to the vet to get a full check up and plan my recovery. I will need treatments for heartworms and my loss of hair. I used to have a beautiful coat when I was at home with my original family. I am very thankful that I will be able to get healthy. Being so little I haven't been feeling very well the last few weeks with everything going on in my body. My foster mom and her friends think I have the biggest brown eyes. They say they make me absolutely adorable : ) I am new to my foster home so they don't know too much about me yet. I am very quiet right now and a little shy. Once I get my treatments I think I will start to feel like my old self. I am a real love bug and just want someone to hold me tight and take care of me. If you would like to sponsor me that would be a big help. I will be with SHARE for quite a while going thru heartworm treatments and while my hair grows back. Check me out later, my foster mom will be updating my story. You can send my foster mom an email if you have any questions about me.

STORY: Mona Lisa was born in a city shelter and has been with us at Animal Farm ever since. She had a rough early start needing a surgery for an ectopic ureter made her unattractive to most adopters. She has had her surgery and is doing great. Now all she needs is her forever home.
Mona is basic obedience trained and walks nicely on leash. She loves all people and is especially great with children. She loves most dogs. Her very best friend is an 8 lb chi named Kaiden.

STORY: Kishou came to us about three months ago as "Rockhead." He had been in the Rancho Cucamonga shelter and his time was up. He was a stray and had been found with a rope around his neck. How awful! Someone tied him up and then left him. Just awful. Anyway, poor sweet Kishou's fur was so matted that the groomer (yes, the shelter loved this dog so much they paid to have him professionally groomed) had to shave most of it off. I included his impound photo - it's near the bottom of the page. His fur is coming back in, and wow is it luxurious. I can hardly keep my hands out of it. We would really like to get Kishou adopted out soon so that we can bring another dog into our pack and rehabilitate it. That's kind of what we do. We get a foster dog and then socialize it with our two permanent dogs, Ame and Kisaki, and teach the dog to walk well on a leash, sit, down, stay, come, teach them how to play. That's the sad thing about many of our rescues - they never learned how to play - they never got to be a dog - they were never loved and cherished. If you're interested in Kishou, I'd love to hear from you.

STORY: (Told by Gareth himself) My Foster Mom picked me up from the cold, damp shelter I was in. My nose was ripped, yes ripped. You know the thingy in between my nostrils, ripped in half. And to top it off, it is infected. Unfortunately, my nose is not the worst of my problems. I have heartworms too. My foster mom and LBR are taking very good care of me. I am grateful they gave an old man like me a chance, when there are so many young ones that need help too. My foster mom says that old boxers are the best! I am not going to argue there. Legacy and my foster mom are letting me work this out in my old slow pace. So, I am just going to take it easy for a while and get better. But don't hesistate putting an application to adopt me, I am worth the wait. I am housebroken, not 1 accident! I love kids, and other dogs. I even like the little barky dog in this house. I like to lay on the couch and rest. I have never been in a house, so the air conditioner and the nice soft couch feel good on my old bones. I need to work on a few things my foster mom said, like "personal boundaries", what is that? She is always taking about "boundaries", and all I am trying to do is sit on her, or let her share her food with me. Please check back, I will update you later well I am feeling 100%, it was all I could do to type this. Back to the couch. Wiggles & Kisses, Gareth
