When you are brushing it might help to have him up on a table with a head restraint. Nothing harsh, but something to keep him from turning around (like a regular grooming arm and loop). www.petedge.com carries tables and restraints, and their prices are pretty good. big grin

You could try giving his FRONT side something to stay busy with - something to gnaw on for a while!

Bobbi-Girl loves butt pats, but seems uncomfortable about having the feathers on her backside brushed. I'm not really great at "walking & chewing gum at the same time", but I do my best to pat her butt (top side) with my left hand while my right hand does the brushing.

Ya' know, its their job to make our lives more "interesting". BOL! In fact, when I see a seemingly PERFECT dog, I figure its actually lacking in the IQ dept.laugh out loud

Well l now brush blue 3 times a day, instead of every day, and l can now say that l think he is liking it better, l think l was over brushing Him.
now l get near his backside and tail once a week, with a brush.

I also brought a new double coated hair dog brush, l'm loving it.way to go

l had the same thing with Blue around his ears, l invested in a new brush a salon pro, and its great, smile, cost he $25.00 but does the trick.

It for double coated dogs, which Border collie are.
