mom took me on a new trail today which meant i really had to concentrate. my confidence grows with each obstacle. we had snow/mud and uneven ground to work with and logs that had fallen through the winter. most people can't tell i'm blind...you will be amazed at how much you can do. mom just treats me like the other dogs we are with. mostly i get leashed in the summer as my nose works overtime and i'm just dying to meet one of those moose i keep smelling. mom think's it's not a good idea, i think she worries too much!

Well I confuse my parents, because sometimes I seem to see better than others. I sometimes startle at Mom's moving hands and other times, I do not. Sometimes I will go down the few steps we have like a pro, others I stumble or refuse. I do likes that elevator going down, but up is never a problem.

Mom realized last fall I no longer enjoy walks, because I get confused by all of the smells and lack of what I can see frightens me, we just adjust my routine.

My fursibs help me out too, one of them usually stays outside with me and stays close to me.

Positive and fun attitude makes a big difference. I am always special, but I don't get babyed ay more than my brother or sister.

I have the same problem with seeing better sometimes...but I don't usually get startled or scared..Mom can usually tell if I'm worse because I will stare intently at something..Almost like I am trying to get my eyes to focus...Of course then I turn around and run into whatever might be beside me...Ouch

King Spike, you might want to try a wide open flat fenced area off leash with someone to reassure you with their voice. I know sometimes leashed walks can be scary and if I'm not sure I put on the breaks, bol.

Kramer, are you sure you aren't completely blind? Sometimes it looks like I'm staring but I'm just sitting still. Or you might be listening intently??
