Hi Everyone,
It’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve sent an update – so I owe you one. Sue has been doing quite well at Warm Springs Rehab. She has physical therapy twice a day, occupational therapy twice for about 45 minutes each session. I’m still not sure of the difference – right now they both seem to be doing the same thing, aggravating Sue! I’m kidding, she is anxious to get back to her life and is
“playing nice”. She also has been having hyperbaric oxygen treatments each day which has already shown visible progress in healing the wounds. All good!
Not so good, is that she had a setback this past Sunday and ended up back at Wilford Hall hospital again. She started having some chest pains. The good news is that the doctors have just about ruled out that it was caused by her heart – yea! Downside – they haven’t decided exactly what it was. Upside, they will most likely let her go back to the fun and games at Warm Springs today, tomorrow, or Friday. (You know, you can never pin a doctor down to a solid date…)
I will update you on the status as soon as I get the word. Thank you again for your love and support.

"Hi guys--the doctors are wanting the mama to have a mastectomy--not happy, but at least the cancer found and can be treated. We'll know more next week
We gonna go to Crater Lake this weekend and relax and kick our feets up

Our mom would like to put in a prayer request for her friend Judith and her husband Stuart (they don't have any dogs, but they have cool gerbils). Stuart's losing his eye sight and becoming more and more discouraged. Doctors think it has something to do with exposure to radiation since he was a chemistry prof for many years. He can't see the T.V, drive, and is basically going blind. This is a tough transition for not only him but for his entire family who have also had to adjust. Please pray for him and his family. Thanks. It is much appreciated!
Also, Bella (little Chi) is doing well still. Her owner Linette says Bella's doing well on her low-protein diet and her bloodwork shows an improvement. Praise God!

| | Barked: Tue Sep 8, '09 9:26pm PST | | | | | | Hey pups and peeps....dad had his check-up with his surgeon today!!! A long drive -- 4 hours there and then 4 hours back..but we got to go along because it wasn't as hot as usual. anyways.......we had good news and bad news:
The good news! The doctor was very very pleased with how dad's leg was healing and how far he could bend it!!!!!
The bad news! We thought arthroscopic surgery would help his left shoulder but the surgeon said uh uh! Gotta be replacement also so she asked which we'd do first shoulder or other knee...dad chose other knee...Unfortunately, dad is a lefty so the bum shoulder does give him big problems. His form of arthritis apparently eats away the joints....bummer. So we may be in for more surgery before the year is out!
On the positive side! Sue is back in rehab and hopefully the Lord will allow her to be there and recoop until she can finally go home....she has been in hospitals for five and a half months now! OUCH. | | | | |

| | Barked: Mon Sep 14, '09 11:37pm PST | | | | | | Sorry to be the bearer of bad news regarding Sue...Ron called last night to say that she was slurring her words and was very confused...they are not sure what is causing this...I would imagine all the drugs and trauma of 41/2 months of hospital and surgery and heart problems and so on....he is very concerned . I've never heard him so down. Please, please keep them in prayer. I know its been a long long time...you can imagine how long its been for them. Thank you so much! Kay | | | | |

She didn't get an extention, and it wouldn't help anyway because the place she thought she had fell through anyway. She now has to move in with her son and so can't take all her pets. She may have to put her pets into the local shelter or even put one of them to sleep because she doesn't get along with any other people. Things are getting rather desperate. I can't help her because we have a house full and Cindy really doesn't think that Maggie would deal with us any better than her son or daughter in law. Please, Please Keep Praying! I know, and so does she, that God has the answer, but we're not hearing it!  | | | | |
