Hi everyone,

I have been working with six Great Dane rescues, giving them 5% of my sales during the month that they are sponsored and an additional 10 percent if someone comes to my site and uses the coupon code: rescue. It has worked out pretty well so far and have gotten high dollar sales as a direct result of it. Plus it makes me feel good about what I am doing. I would highly recommend doing something similiar to drive sales to you site. Talk about viral marketing at its best.

Back to my earlier post about MySpace. It is one thing to market your goods on myspace and quite another to support a charity of some sort. The reaction from people there is pronounced.

Having said that are any of you involved with a dog rescue or charity that needs a little help? I could offer them the 10 percent of the sales that use a code set for them and free shipping for the customer. If so, drop me an email at hans@lucysdoghouse.net.

All the best,

Hans

Hi,

I am currently working on implementing my promotion code module for my store. As soon as that is complete I'm going to contact some small breed dog rescues - Brussels Griffon, Havanese and now Maltese in honor of baby Izzy.

Did I mention to anyone out here that I added another the puppy to my pack? I must be crazy.

Leslie,

That is really great. Two dogs are not exactly twice the work and at least with my dogs they keep each other company.

Congrats.

All the best,

Hans

We have been contacting rescue sites for almost a year now asking if we could have their banner link. You wouldn't believe how I have had to beg some of them. Mostly I get no response back. You would think that they would want the exposure.
When we start having a constant flow of $ we will donate on a regular basis to a couple selected rescues. Hey, it's the right thing to do.
As for now my faith asks me to donate a minimum of 10% for God's work. Well, God put us in charge of His animals and taking care of them is part of the work......it is a privledge

Great idea, thanks for sharing! I was too thinking of doing this once the newly redesigned was up and running. It makes you feel so good at the end of the day that you've contributed.

On a personal note, we're always donating stuff to local charities, food, money. If that fed one dog for a week, that's great. Oftentimes, I try new dog food brand that Zoe doesn't care for and that goes to charity too, rather than wasting. These are all really good high end dog food.

Hey Hans,

Baby Izzy makes 3 dogs for me! She's the smallest of the 3 only about 3 lbs but bully's the others around like she was a rottweiler. It's hysterical to watch.

Leslie,

Wow, three dogs, that is great to hear. Once I get settled down somewhere on a more permanent basis I will have a houseful of dogs.

All the best,

Hans
