OK, here's a nerdy thing I'm about to do! After I teach today I'm going to rush over to the train and spend $12.50 each way to go to UC Davis to see the corpse flower in bloom!

It's this giant flower that smells like a corpse, and it's scientific name comes from misshapen penis! How nerdy!

Anyway, here's a link to the webpage, and they even have a live streaming video of the thing! I should be there around 7PM PST if anyone wants to look out for us-- just look for the couple with the service dog!

I even got the souveneir t-shirt!

It was fun, and Sabrina definatley thought it smelled awesome! She wrote a diary entry about it.

Whoa! What a way to celebrate! Love the diary entry.

Sounds neat. I'm not so much into girly-girly flower stuff, and told my husband I wanted a bouquet of corpse flowers for our wedding! Lucky for everyone else they're not exactly available at the local florist, nor something you can just carry around! laugh out loud I had to settle for black-eyed susans, sunflowers, and some white roses.

I'm a plant person, so I actually had some of my wedding flowers freeze dried and mounted in a picture frame... Unfortunately it is one of the things that Sabrina got to during her separation ansxiety days so the frame now has a bunch of teeth marks in it.

Yeah, they are pretty rare but there are two in this area, Ted and Titania. I missed Titania blooming last year by just a few days and was so sad!
