 | | | | Hi Mommy of Dolce. I bet you are excited to get him home. Vala and I want to wish you all the best. When I brought Vala home she was 5 months old, so it was probably a little easier for me than it will be for you, but saying that, Lhasa's are bright little pups and learn very easy when taught with love and kindness which I am sure you have lots to give him. She hadn't been housebroken as she came from a kennel, but she was well and lovingly handled by her breeder, so she has a beautiful temperament. I started taking her out about every hour and especially after her feeding and she was housetrained in a little over a week. I never scolded her if she had an accident and praised her to the hilt when she did her business outside. I started brushing her teeth every day and combing and brushing her every day as well. It makes it much easier for a groomer because she just stands there and lets the groomer do whatever she wants. I had a crate and made bedding for her out of towelling material. It is about 2 inches thick. The crate was where she slept beside my bed from the first night I brought her home and she also stayed in it when I had to leave her home by herself. She has now, just started in the last couple of months, staying out of the crate all the time. She sleeps with me on my bed and has the run of the house when I am not home. Good luck and I hope I have given you a few hints that will help in Dolce's training and adjustment to your home.
