Hi! Winston was great at being a crate sleeper. We used to let him watch tv on the bed with us and at lights out, I'd put him in his crate in our room to sleeep...he was great at it- until a few nights in a row we just let him sleep on the bed.
Now, he mostly sleeps on the 2nd pillow above my head! Then wanders up and down the bed- at my feet- at my back- back up to my head. I am wondering others sleeping arrangements and if you think I'd be successful at getting a bed- or what kinds of beds others use- thanks!!

We adopted both our Havs a few months ago. From the start i NEVER let them on our bed(though very tempting) because i did not want them to get used to the beds.
They have a large area(used to be our dining room) that we have a few large ex-pens joined & there crates, doggy litter box, food, water & play area are in there. They know when we leave or when its bedtime to go in their area. They LOVE to sleep in their crates. They go there on their own when they dont want to be bothered. We dont keep the doors on the crates, so they can come & go as they please. Plus we never use the crates for punishment. Now our dogs were older when we got them (7 mths & 6 yrs) so i am not sure how it would be with very small puppies.shrug

Louie sleeps in bed with me! he used to always sleep in his crate and I would tell him 'time for bed' and he would go crawl in his crate. He has a dog bed in my room on the floor and will sometime start out the night there but he always ends up in my bed smile. Louie loves the beds with the high sides so he can rest his head on it and look around the room or snooze with his head up. good luck finding a bed.

Miss Paige sleeps in bed with me-or rather she lets me sleep in the bed with her-since she thinks it's her bed. Our new foster pupster sleeps in his crate. I have let him sleep in the bed but he seems to like his crate much better. Could be because I give him treats when he gets crated and he has a stack to eat during the night.

Brady is a bed sleeper too. We started him off in his crate in our bedroom and then once he was potty trained, we let him sleep in bed with us. He does have a bed on our floor and he will often move to his bed during the night.

Murph started out in a crate and once we deemed him trustworthy, potty-wise, he's been sleeping on our bed. We will be getting another Havanese pup in a few weeks and I imagine we will do the same for him. We had 2 bichon frises for over 14 years and they slept with us too! laugh out loud

I have a bed in almost every room. The one in the living room is a basket with a soft pad in it. The one in "my room" is a kuranda cot. There is even a soft-sided bed in the bathroom, so I can relax while mom & dad get ready for work. But, as much as I enjoy having several of my own beds... there is just nothing better than sleeping with mom & dad. I don't get to do it every night, but sometimes they fall asleep before they "tuck" me into my own bed. When they do, I lay very quietly by their feet so that I don't wake them up.

I'm with you, River! I sleep in bed with my humans! I like to sleep either between them, snuggling up against either Mom or Dad, or I sleep on the headboard shelf above Mommy's head. In the morning, when it's time to wake up, I slide down Mommy's pillow until I can put my chin on her head.

When the weather's hot though, I like to sleep on the bathroom floor 'cause it's much cooler than the bed.

Zeus hogs the entire bed!! We used to put him in a crate at night but he would cry so much every night that after about 2 months we started letting him sleep in the bed. He would go right to sleep! But now after a year of that he streches out on his back across half the bed. Leaving my husband and I the other half! He will now growl at us if we disturb him by moving in the middle of the night. Pretty rude for a little 11 pd dog huh? So any advise for that would be well appretiated!! My thoughts on bed sleeping, dont give in to their cute littlr faces!! Then this wont ever happen!
