I think mummy is a bit parinod cause A lady in the park asked mum if I was over weight, Mum is very careful about what I eat. Mum gets worried about the whole weight thing cause I am a bit of a garbage guts. So we would like to know how much should a six month old weigh???, (mum will have to convert pounds into kilos but I am sure that isn't that hard laugh out loud

Hard to tell without seeing pictures of your svelty bod!

You should be able to easily feel the ribs (not see them)...and the waist should have a definate indention.

Otis is 3 yrs old and 80'sh pounds. He is taller and longer than the standard calls for but...he is not fat. Our vet said that for his frame, he is where he needs to be.

Mum just made me pose for the camara to get a photo (can check it out on my page), and after looking at it she is reassured that I am in fine shape for a bully. A few people have commented on my weight, we have only ever met one other Bully. We are rare where I live, So I think people get a bit shocked by how heavy we are.

we're very chunky, and we look even bigger when we flex out our shoulders and do that tri-pod stance...makes us look WAY bigger than we really are. You look great! Listen to your vet, not some stranger on the street, and follow your heart--you'll do what's best for your bully!

I'm worried about this too... Mom was told I was over weight when she first got me but now I've lost 12lbs. I weigh 47lbs now. All the other bulldogs we have seen in person (in dog, I guess) have been bigger than me. I am only 10 months but I don't think I am going to grow that much more. Mom will put a current picture on my page... let me know what you all think. Mom doesn't want me to be too thin but she's never had a bully before so she doesn't know what we are supposed to look like. The vet said I am just fine now and that I would be ok losing even a little bit more.

HI Dozer,
You look just fine to me. Not long after my last post on this topic I went to the vet to get spayed and he told mum I was a little over wieght, Mum changed me from puppy to Adult food (less fat the vet said) and measusured out exactly what I was meant to have and I have gone form 16.45kg, to 14.5kg in about 8 weeeks Mum is impressed !, I think 14.5kg is about 29 pounds roughly. I am very active but I love my food a lot. Mum is really careful what she feeds me, so she was surprised that I was over weight turned oout it was just the food I was eating being to high in fat.
