	Wow excellent articles loved them all still reading Bud thank's for the advice you are right i am the boss and mum doesn't get it,when she pays attention to Ellie and i get mad at Ellie cause i'm supposed to get the attention mum tells me off and puts me in time out in the laundry. I think she will see things diferently now.

	Bud the Boddhisattva HELLO FELLOW PUPS!! Bud the Bodhisattva here to try and sort out your problems for you!! I have had time to meditate between Mummy blaspheming at her computer, (hard to meditate in those circumstances) but I feel I have done the best that I can, I only hope I do not fail you!! Now the first Question was from our dear friend TOTO! I have a question Bud The past few nights I keep wanting to sleep on top of mommy. She sleeps on her stomach and I climb on her back to sleep. Mommy wakes up and makes me get off of her, but I just get back on her again. I just started doing this to her last week. I used to just lay as close to her as possible. I guess I really want near her now. Mommy really wants to know what to do since she wakes up with a bad backache. TOTO my dear friend I meditated long and hard on this and it could be a couple of things! Has anything in the house changed in the last couple of weeks? Sometimes this can make us feel very insecure, and the NEED to feel absolutely safe is of natural paramount to us! OR option Number two is that you are Trying very hard to be TOP DOG in your ALPHAS EYES (Mummy’s). I TRY this on occasion by sleeping ABOVE Daddy’s head but Mummy will not allow that as SHE IS DEFINITELY ALPHA in our pack!! In the doggie world PHYSICALLY the higher up you can be the higher up the chain! So maybe you are trying to gain MORE attention than the others? Your Mummy, fur her backs sake will have to figure out a way of not allowing you to do it, exceptionally difficult when at night but maybe if she keeps little titbits by her bed and when you do it she moves you and says NO sharply and gives you a titbit then after a few tries you may get the hang of where you can sleep and where you cannot! There are drastic measures of course like crating you by her bed at night, which seems horrendous to us but it is a drastic option! So it is really retraining sleeping habits I am afraid TOTO and Mummy not giving in!! Hope this helps some Love in meditation Bud Second question was from our beloved JELOUS Jewels!!! Hee hee Dear Bud, I am in need of some serious counsel. Every time Mom comes home me and STAR greet her at the door. Here is the problem: I start to attack STAR and growl like I'm possessed... I won't leave STAR alone and I chase her all through the house growling and snapping at her and trying to tackle her until Mom acts as referee and breaks us up...what the heck is the matter with me? I just started doing this a few months ago, right after I saw Mom and STAR cuddling together on the couch... (Bud shaking his head) Jewels, Jewels, Jewels sigh.... You are such a jelous Bunny!! You are VERY ALPHA!! And much to my chargin POP is now trying this with Zeke!! PECKING ORDER! I can only tell you HOW Mummy copes with this, when she comes in we ALL go nuts!! SHE DOES NOT SPEAK TO US OR ACKNOWLEDGE US until she has sat down and then we all go over to her! That is when POP has already started, she ignores it!! In other words she is not reinforcing bad behaviour, obviously if they drew blood different story!! But they don’t! But they do fight! SHE WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THEM until they stop!! I get petted first and tizzes, then Zeke, Then POP!! Pecking order! In this way Mummy is defining her position as Alpha and making us fall in line! But by what you are saying your Mummy is FIRSTLY going to have to be quick off the mark! As soon as she opens the door she should REINFORCE YOUR NAME FIRST and ONLY YOURS! So you start to see that Star is not a threat to you! This will take quite a few attempts to get it right and your mummy will feel awful toward STAR BUT... if she persists you should soon assume your pecking order and you will know that you are next to Mummy then Star! If your mummy has a friend who can help that would be all the better so you can practice, say your Mummy’s friend holds STAR back and talks quietly to her while your MUMMY gives you all the attention THEN when you calm your Mummy can then give her attention to STAR! This way it would be really good for both of you and you are so smart we are sure you will catch on quick! There is no quick solution to this Jewels but Mummy will have to practice long and hard but it will be worth it!! Love and meditation Bud the BODHI!! Third question is from RAJA! Bud, help me pawlease... almost every time I go outside I have to bring a leaf inside with me. And my leaves can't be taken away. I like them in a small pile in the corner of the living room. Daddy says I take shabby chic to a new high. Can you explain me? (Also I suspect Mommy removes some when I'm outside with Daddy because my pile never gets too big... but this is another problem.) Dearest RAJA WELL WELL, you are making a nest how lovely! This is quite normal behaviour fur doggies whether it be leaves or grass or even in Pop’s case Mice (ewewewwwwwwww)!! I meditated and believe it is your instinct to make a hide as they call it in the wild, where doggies make a bed, like when we get in our beds and move round and round and pull and push to get it comfy enough! hee hee. Also a lot of dogs make stashes, some with toys, some with blankies yours seems to be leaves, good choice, I pawgree that I believe SOMEONE (eyeing Aunty Helen) is not letting you MAKE your STASH big enough, a problem in itself as then you feel compelled to bring more in, such a dilemma! I meditated and believe you are following doggie instincts, to make stashes, and as long as the leaves do not bite or attack you and your household are quite safe and you should carry on regardless! 	Pop The Pawporter HELLO FAITHFUL READERS!! This month I have been nosing around and have found out some GREAT stuff about what we pups can do to help go green!! MAINLY to do with our fur!! Huh you may ask, well it really is pawmazing!! DOG HAIR FUR A CAUSE Ever look at the leftover hair after grooming your dog and wish there was something useful you could do with it? The last time I "FURminated" my dog, I ended up with a huge pile of fur that was almost the size of my dog! It seemed like a shame to let all that hair go to waste. I felt like I should have been recycling it or something. Well, now I can do something with that hair, and it's for a great cause. Matter of Trust, a non-profit ecological group, has been collecting hair from humans and animals and using it to help clean up oil spills. How does it work? Well, because hair absorbs oil, large quantities of it can soak up quite a bit of oil. Matter of Trust uses hair and fur to weave mats and create containment booms (nylons stuffed with hair) that soak up the oil. They can make use of human hair, wool and hair/fur from dogs, cats and horses. All over the country, hair is being contributed by salons, dog groomers, schools and pet owners. Currently, the hair is being used to help clean up the recent oil spill in the gulf, a tragedy that has hit quite close to home for many of us. You can contribute hair from your own pets, but hair in bulk is even better. Consider starting a community project with other pet owners in your area. You can hold a "Fur Drive" and turn it into a fun and charitable event. Cat lovers - you can use feline fur too! This pawticle was written by a lady on her dog blog, thanks fur the info! 	Summer Eye Care for Dogs: By Raja The Traveler Summer poses special problems for those of us who have folds under our eyes and for those of us who like to hang our heads outside in the wind AND for those of us who love the sandy beach. The folds trap tears and salt and can fester and become irritated as humidity makes it hard for the tears to dry up. Please keep a watch for under eye ulcers which require medicated cream from the vet to clear up. If we are prone to this problem, a little Vaseline in the folds can prevent the problem in many cases. Hanging our heads outside the car on a ride is so much fun to us, but it’s not very safe. Not only could we fall out, as many of us are actually front heavy, but those of us who are especially excitable can jump. And the particles of sand and dust in the wind are bad for our corneas. The scarring over time can actually cause blindness at worst and dulled vision at best. So if we must sit by a window, please roll it up so we can’t hang our heads out and get is Doggles for long trips with the wind in our faces. Will we mind? Yes. But we also mind not getting treats all day and we survive just fine. The beach is great. I pawsonally love putting my face in the sand and sniffing all the fishy, rancid, rank lovely smells. And I come up with sand all over my face. Doggles would help in this kind of situation, but furry face dogs like me can’t wear them. The fur mushes in and I end up unable to see at all. Bringing along a squirt bottle of clean water is helpful gently to wash sand off our long eyelashes. And for the ride home, a simple saline solution of clean, commercial eyewash gets the last bits out so our eyes stay bright and clear. A general year round eye care checklist includes: 1. Pawlease remember to trim hair from our under eye area using blunt-nosed scissors. By keeping hair from scraping the eye, you will help prevent bacteria from entering the eye. 2. Check pawlease to make sure the corners of our eyes are mucus-free. Basically, bacteria frequently feed on mucus which can migrate into the eye. One way to handle this is using sterile veterinary eyewash. And always remember to wash your hands before cleaning our eyes as bacteria can enter our eyes that way too. 3. Tear stains could be a problem, especially for poodles, cockers, and small terriers. These dogs usually have trouble draining tears so that excess tears spill down the lower eyelid, causing staining. Trimming hair around the eye, keeping the eye clean can help. Remember to blot our under eye area gently is you see us getting damp and take us to the vet is it persists.
