	Is there a dog park in Lafayette? I'm PRETTY sure there's not and I believe we need one really bad. I'm looking into trying to get one built this year. It'd be great!

	Oh how I wish we had a Dog Park. I have no idea how to get the ball rolling on that but I wish I did. I'm afraid with all the problems we have that would not be of intrest to the "powers that be" in gov. here. But then you never know who is a dog loved.

	Well first we have to get a group together to gather signatures on a petition for a dog park and send that with a letter outlining the need for a dog park to our department of parks and recreation. I plan on developing a website to educate people on dog parks and to help garner support and signatures. Until then, does anyone know of a place a dog park could be built? I know there is a large lot across the street from the Cajun Dome. I don't know if it's available for development though. Thats something the parks and recreation department can determine.

	Hi everyone! I think that's a great idea. I was just wondering if there was a dog park here. I wish I could find a place where Abby could run free, lol. She's not trained yet to actually listen and stay close by, and my yard is not fenced, unfortunately. Which lot by the cajundome do you mean? I know there's the hotel on the Congress end. Then there's cajun field...but I think all of that is pretty much for UL. Are you talking about that grassy area on cajundome blvd. going towards Johnston? By all of the fraternity houses? I see people walking there sometimes, exercising. And guys playing football/soccer, and whatever sports, lol. I doubt if that could be made into a dog park. Ah, I don't know. Is there a dog park anywhere in Louisiana? LOL...I'll make the drive so my Abby can run

	I'm talking about the lot across the street from the Cajun Dome parking lot. I believe its on a hospital's left side. There is a dog park in Lake Charles, Baton Rouge, and New Orleans. 	If you go to one please tell us about it I'm planning on checking the lake charles one out myself next month. I will be finished with the website advocating a dog park next week. (Websites are so tedious) I'll put a link to it on the group page and we can start writing letters, signing petitions, spreading the word, and see what happens.

	sure thing! although i think we're going to wait awhile...there's this huge lab that comes to visit abby sometimes when we're outside and abby's getting used to her size...she's never been around big dogs before, except briefly at the vets. she usually barks and tells them to get away, but she's starting to be comfortable around the lab. so, we're gonna wait to go until she's shown us she can handle it, lol. i'm sure there'll be all sizes of dogs there, i just don't want her to get freaked out or anything. i just emailed you the larger pictures of abby, i hope it's not too late. i'll look for the link to check out the page when it's done!
