Uggh....sometime Berry drives me nuts, he never can just lie down and relax he's always doing something annoying. About 10 minutes ago he broke the coat rack by running into it. The leg splintered so I rush around trying to clean up before he grabs a wood splinter cause I know he's gonna grab one even if I tell him NO!!. So I get it all cleaned up, and somehow when I blinked he got a piece, so I go to get it out of his mouth and he runs away...I say sit and he sits, I go to open his mouth and her drops to the ground..*thud* on his elbows rolls over and starts squirming on his back like he's dancing or something...finally I get the splinter out of his mouth, and I go to sit down and relax and he's got the edge of the carpet unraveling, so I run for the scissors and cut it, but he's got carpet fiber in his mouth...so I go through the same routine.....UGH!!! Now that I'm finally relaxed (the beast is napping) it all seems kind of funny.....maybe he thinks it's all a game. The name of the game "Drive the human's insane" shrug

Sounds like he has a lot of energy and is bored. Do you play with him a lot?

Sugar can be very fidgety. There are times when he can't seem to stay comfortable in one place for long, complains, then moves to another locale, complains, then moves again.

Now I take him on 45 minute walks at a regular time each night and that seems to wipe him out for a small period pf time.

Is your getting enough exercise? Maybe cooped up too much in the house? I crate trained Sugar so I let him run loose for hours afterwards, but he's still too young to take to the park yet (final shots coming next week, too), which will further exhaust his energy stores.

You sound like a typical springer, Berry. I had to look up and see your age. You are still a baby. You really don't see springers settling down until about 2 years of age. They are sporting dogs and have that energy to burn. Sometimes, mine just run around outside or in the living room, until they can't run anymore. They do tend to get into mischief if they aren't exercised enough. They can be very inventive. They excel in agility. Maybe a class would be fun for both of you.

I would love to take him swimming but its too cold right now, swimming knocks my bully on her butt for a day after the swimming.

I bet he would do well at agility, I know he can jump our 5 ft fence if he wanted to. He's settled down now a little bit, only thing is he's getting used to playing with the other dog and he's barking right in her face and she hates it. SOO LOUD!!! We did an hour walk and he's figity tonight too. It's like his battery never runs down (reminds me of the Aussie Shep across the street).

Berry, that sounds about right... There is never a dull moment when you have a Springer! Kongo gets board too, even after he has been out and played hard. Swimming is what wears him out too. The only problem is if there is a lake near, he is in it it doesn't matter the time of year or the temp. So we have to stear clear of bodies of water this time of year too cold. I am guessing you are counting down the days until you can go the the lake/camp we are.

I was just wondering if he is neutered? Those homones took my sweet, docile pup and turned her into a very active little troublemaker. She settled down within 2 months of her spaying. Well, good luck anyway. Enjoy their youth. They grow up so fast.
