For those of you who know Casey and anyone who is new to Casey’s story. Casey has been battling lymphoma for almost 4 months now. She was diagnosed on September 18th at our local vet. We were told that if she went untreated, she would live maybe another 2 or 3 months. We took her in to see a specialist the very next day and after having her evaluated and speaking with the doctor we decided it would be best to have her cancer treated with chemotherapy. Casey went into remission a few days after her first treatment. However, her cancer was very aggressive and came back just 5 short weeks later. This was very heart breaking news to hear. The very same day the cancer was discovered again, they started her on a “rescue” protocol. A rescue protocol is basically when the cancer stops responding to the first set of drugs and a new set of drugs is used to fight the cancer. This all took place on November 2nd. Casey again went into remission and remained in remission until just recently. Unfortunately all of her lymph nodes are enlarged again. Casey is a very brave girl though! She has showed no signs of sickness since this difficult journey began (except a fever that lasted a couple of hours). She still loves to run, jump, play, and go for rides in the car! Since Casey has come out of remission again, this means that she has to be started on a second rescue protocol. This will probably take place in the next couple of days. I love Casey and I will do whatever it takes to see to it that she gets the very best treatment available and more importantly, that she has the very best quality of life possible. All of this has been very costly, but I have been able to keep up with the payments until now. Because she will be getting two treatments back to back (one last week and the second rescue protocol to begin this week) I am unable to afford her upcoming treatment. This breaks my heart because I want to give Casey the best chance possible to fight this cancer. So it is out of desperation that I am asking you to please help my Casey girl by sending a donation. It can be small or it can be big, anything would help right now. If you would like to help, please contact me by email, or by phone (708)822-3340 and I will answer any questions you may have and give you information on where to send your donation. Thank you SO MUCH for reading this! Please continue to keep Casey in your thoughts and prayers! And also, if you would like, you can send her some get well messages, she loves to sit by me and listen while I read them to her : )
