I'm a yellow lab named Sadie and my nose has lost its black pigment - it's pink now! Am I a dudley?

Technically, no, you have to have the recessive nose color genes that give pink nose and lips. But I see no reason you can't be in the group anyway!

I am so excited that anyone else knows what a dudley is and appreciates how beautiful we are! Everyone we see (and since I am a SDIT, we see alot of people) thinks I am so pretty! My mom and dad even call me Dudley sometimes so I'm glad to know there are a bunch of us (and the people who love us) around!

Take care,
Laurel

Sadie, I think what you have is called snow nose. Labs and other dogs that live in cold climates sometimes lose the black color from their noses. My mom thinks it makes us cuter!

Ok, mom wants to know how you get to be a dudley.....does it mean your mom and dad have to be dudleys? or is to just be pure luck that we get to be this special?
Shiloh

Is that for me?

Here's what I've read on the net: "This is a yellow Labrador with chocolate pigmentation (eebb). It can also refer to a Lab with absolutely no pigmentation on the nose or eyerims (all pink in color), but in actuality, this is extremely rare, and probably a genetic abnormality"

Shiloh (love your name by the way)...can we change the abnormality (not sure what that means...but doesn't sound pretty) to a Special Rare happening? I mean we are special right?cheer
