BAM-BAM

Sure I\'m- pretty, but I\'m- BAD TO THE BO

I've wanted a dog my entire adult life...(and I'm in my early 50's!)

So, while I waited for my dream to come true, I thought up pages & pages of names for my future dog (that's if i ever GOT one...) I had names for females, males, little dogs, big dogs, cutesy names & tuff dog names...

My dream finally came true on September 23, 2005 in the form of an 8-week old, male Maltese puppy.

I named him: Bam-Bam

(It's from "The Flintstones", a cartoon from my childhood). It was cute (like Bam-Bam himself), short & snappy, and not too common.

I love his name, but Bam-Bam could care less: because when I call him he only comes when & if he feels like it ! All that work for nothing...Oh well !
SO, HOW DID YOU DECIDE ON YOUR DOG'S NAME?
Kiara

Don\\\'t hate me- because I\\\'m- adorable

Well, my sister named Kiara. The story is that I decided to adopt Kiara when I went to my parents' house and one of the puppies in the litter they were taking care of wouldn't leave my lap. They took care of her for a couple of days while I readied my house for my new addition. When I went back to their house, I realized I would need a name. My sister thought that she should name my puppy since I named her latest llama (which I named Cocoa Latte, it fits perfectly). My sister came up with the name Kiara, which is the name of Simba's daughter in the 2nd Lion King movie. I liked the name since it's unique and not something you hear all of the time, and we kept it. I can't imagine calling her anything else.

I didn't name Callie, her original owners did. (I never met them because I got Callie through the Humane Society; her second owners only had her a week before realizing they didn't have time for a dog, but the intake form said she knew to come to her name. So she must have been named that before they had her.)

Cinnamon- Grrrl

The Little Bad- Wolf

Cinnamon was named by her fosters, because of her coloring. She's had a hard life and I didn't want to traumatize her with yet another change (of name). Coincidentally, my favorite Neil Young song is "Cinnamon Girl"--so I just tacked "Grrrl" on (she growls a lot)!
Minnie- ♥

Minnie was a stray picked up from the shelter and the shelter did not name her. I had thought of many names for my future dog too (well maybe not for THAT long!). The two names we liked for her were Roxy and Mocha. But since she was a stray we thought we should try our best to find her old name... or at least something close to it! So we were saying alllll the names we could think of!

The evening of the day we got her I was saying names again. "Mimi... Minnie!" I said. Once I said Minnie, she perked her ears up. "Minnie," my dad called, and she came to him! Her name was Minnie.

I only just joined this group and I noticed the forum thingy.so I checked it out..If you guys dont mind..I will answer too:

I wanted a dog for sooooooooo long...Iwas gonna name my dog if it was a boy Max or Maximus..if it was a girl I was gonna name it Chloe..so when I went to go get a dog..FINALLY...I seen Lucky..he was the quietest one there...as in he never barked....so when we said we wanted him....the people that worked there said his name was Lucky..I liked it...we took him home and I thought about names because he didnt know his name that well(he was only 3 months)so anyways..Max was a name that EVERY dog has pretty much..or at least..it is really well known...and Maximus..I thought was a long name...which I didnt really want..I wanted something easy..so I thought about Snickers because the Snickers bar wrapper is light brown, dark brown, and white..and Lucky had all those colours...but that was not what I wanted....so it was the next day and I told people I knew about how I got a new dog and I dont know what to call him...so everybody I told about Lucky...they didnt know any names either....but they DID say.. "well he is LUCKY to have you as a owner" (because I love animals)so I just stuck with Lucky...we have had him for more than a year now....and people are STILL saying that same sentence "he is LUCKY to have you as a owner"
Me and my husband and our kids love him soooooo much..and we like the name Lucky
WE LIKE ALL DOG NAMES...SO I hope it dont sound like I dont like long dog names..I DO..I LIKE EVERY DOG NAME

Maisie

Crazy Maisie

Barked: Tue Feb 13, '07 12:49pm PST
I wanted a female teacup yorkie and I was bound and determined to get one. I had decided that I would name her Belle. Well...a friend of a friend had a litter of pekepoo puppies and I fell in love with the only female puppy of the litter when she was a week old. I knew she would be mine. In the weeks to follow while I was getting ready for my new addition a friend mentioned the name Maisie, and I fell in love instantly. I still loved the name Belle and I didn't want to give it up...so I named her Maisie Belle.

Hollie was already named when I got her. Although I did comtemplate changing her name I thought it would be too much for her. However...she had to have a middle name like Maisie, BOL! I wanted to name her after my best friend because she is the one who told me that Hollie needed a new home. My friend's middle name is Lee. I thought that Hollie Lee sounded a bit too "rhymy" so I put a little twist to it and came up with Hollie Leann.

Oh yea...Hollie is part yorkie...so I kind of got my teacup yorkie wink

I just joined. Hi everyone. When I was a baby, I was quite the little piggy. My Mom had me for a few days & could not decide on a name. One day she was baby talking me & said you are such a good boy, but you`re a piggy, just a little hog, a little hoggie. So Hoagie was born. Now people ask, is it after Hoagie Carmicheal or the sandwich. Definately the sandwich!
