Hi guys!! Do you know of any local pumpkin patches that will allow dogs? I really want to get some cute pictures of Heffner in a pumpkin patch to add to his scrap book. And yes, I'm one of THOSE people! But before you laugh too hard.....um.......we all have web pages for our dogs!wink

I know of Jim Dandy produce stand off of 26W. But they didn't look like they had much selection. Although, it looks like they could have a pretty cool corn maze!!

Wow it would be awesome to take the dogs through a corn maze! OF course I say that now, not having done it before...I could have to eat my words. At least I could have some apple cider to wash it down!

The only pumpkin patch/corn maze type place I know of is on Sauvie Island. Dunno if they allow dogs though.

Some places are just weird about bringing dogs. I think I've only heard one or two people have someone give them a hard time. As long as they're on a leash and you pick up after them it's not usually a big deal.

On the topic of costumes, I've been trying to figure that out as well. I actually just stopped by Claire's today on my lunch break. I'm not sure how elaborate you want to go with her costume, but they have little sets (ears, wings, tails, etc.) of various animals for only $10. There's bumblebees, lady bugs (I picked that up for Heffner!), cats, leopards, etc. They're pretty cute and look like they would actually fit most dogs. That's my main issue finding a costume for Heffner; finding something that will actually fit him.

Another place you might try are second hand stores. A lot of times they'll have childrens' costumes for pretty cheap. Depending on the size of the dog, some of the costumes might fit!

I would love to go to the pumpkin patch! I love pumpkin (I think). We just got a car so we can take trips to the fun places that are too far to walk, so we'll be sure to post some photos when we go! smile

About costumes: Mommy's birthday is Halloween and we were thinking that it would be cute if we dressed up in matching outfits! But I won't even wear doggie boots, so she's wondering if it might be too much for me. But if anyone has a diva doggie, you should check out this site: http://www.cha-chacouture.com/index.html
It's pricy, Mommy says, but my neighborhood doggie pal CoCo's mommy says to go to Urban Fawna; they aren't that high. I went to Lexi Dog once to get a bath (yuch!). Lexi Dog has costumes too.
Mommy says for everyone to please be really careful about costumes, though...sometimes costumes that are made for kids are very dangerous to them, and she thinks they shouldn't be allowed to sell some of them at all. Even costumes made especially for doggies aren't danger-proofed. Because Halloween can be scary for doggies, if one of us gets spooked and runs off, we could get the costumes hung up on something and get hurt. frown

I vote yes! I'd love to take her to the punkin patch. Especially if they have horses there...I'm dying to see what she does when she sees a horse. Most likely she'll sit on my foot and cower against my leg initially...much like when she first met Heffner...

Yay!!! I'm glad you're up for the challenge!! Nice links to the doggie Halloween stuff!!

Okay, everyone has got to check this site out! It's pretty freakin' neat! It's a directory of all the pumpkin patches/corn mazes/Halloween related stuff in Oregon! http://www.pumpkinpatchesandmore.org/ORpnw.php

I'm thinking that the 21st would be a good day to go visit the pumpkin patch. We'll have to take a poll for which patch and what time.

If everyone can either post onto this thread or email me with which of the pumpkin patches listed that they would prefer to go to and what time they think is a good meeting time, I'll post it in the messages section and the events section. I have a hike put down for that day, but I'm thinking that the pumpkin patch/corn maze/hay rides would be more fun!!

Just to put my two cents in, I really like the sound of The Pumpkin Patch at Sauvie Island and the Lakeview Farms patch (I clicked on the far northwest area button to find these more local choices)!

This is going to be fun!!!
