Hi Duffy- My GuardianAngel Dog, Zoya, has just passed 3 days before. My mom's friend from Underdog Rescue called her because she knew and also knew that I was on Death Row about to join Zoya in 2 days. She had taken my picture when I looked all shaggy and nasty dirty in that rusty cage and sent it to Mom. Mom's daughter convinced her to go "look at me" and, maybe, just foster me. HA! I knew when Mom picked me up and put me in the car that I was going to my new forever home. You can read the whole story on my site. I went from Death Row to Dogster Dog of the Week in 1 year!

Hi all! How I have heard the story about how I came to my home is this.... My mom had been looking for several months to find a breeder close to our home in Texas, but was having a real hard time finding one. Well I was born in Oklahoma and my mom and dad just happened to be driving through Oklahoma when I was to turn 8 weeks old on their way home from Kansas. She talked to my breeders and they agreed to meet her on their way through with me. I wasn't too sure at the time what was going on. This was the first time I had ever been in a car. At first I was pretty scared! But I was really good! I didn't cry too much! As soon as we got home, I met my cat brother "Mogley" and he made me feel much better! He even let me cuddle with him! I have been soo happy with my family in my happy home! ~Kyna~

My mommy and former daddy decided on Wheatens because of the way they were described in a dog book. Mommy also had a friend with a Wheaten. So she saw an ad in the Post and they came up to Pennsylvania, where I had been shipped from Nebraska. I was staying w/ this guy Gary and his wife who were REALLY SMELLY. When mommy picked me up, I gave her a hug and she knew I was the dog for her! then I got a bath almost every day to get rid of the smell. Now I am handsome and fluffy.

Daddy didn't know I was coming to my furever home in St. Louis. Mommy flew me in from S. Dakota. Daddy was mad at first, but how could he not love my adorable little furry face? Now I am a daddy's boy. I like my house. The kittie likes me (tolerates me), but sometimes she slaps me upside my head if I try to play with her. Whatever! Anytime I go for a walk, people stop and ask what kind of dog I am. I get alot of attention.

I met my Mommy at the pound. I saw her from far away and I started to whine until she came to see me. It was love at first sight and even though Mommy wasn't ready to get a new puppy; she took me anyway cause I kissed her. Now I live with my Mommy and my brother, Paddy Boy, and I am really liking it here.....snoopydog

I used to live all by myself on the streets of Philadelphia. I was very sick and my ears hurt alot! Someone picked me up and took me to the Philadelphia SPCA, but the people there planned to kill me because I had an ear infection. Luckily 2 nice ladies came and got me, and took me to their ranch in Quakertown, PA. They took me to the doctor for medicine and a microchip, then they took me for a haircut because I was filthy and matted. In a few days I felt so much better! About 2 weeks later somebody called to ask how big I was, and my lady said I was about 15 pounds and all legs. They came to meet me that day, and they loved me so much they took me right home. I have been so happy at my forever home!!!

Emma was a rescue, and to tell the truth I had never heard of wheaten terriers, she was just this little black/tan puppy who was so nervous/excited she had pee'd all over her kennel waiting for some one to show up to adopt her. This rescue orig. from MN was meeting a guy who wanted to adopt her. They were waiting for him to show up, I talked to the ladies while they waited, and mentioned that I had actually been looking for a dog for quite some time (my last dog had passed in '98). (in fact that day I had been at 4 local shelters) The guy did not show up and they got a hold of me pretty quickly and the rest in history.
