I'm a slightly- strange, but- happy boy!

First off a big thanks to Annabelle and her mom for starting the group. I am Rascal, I live with my mom her sister and my two brothers Zeke and Buzby. Mom thinks I'm special. I seem to see and hear things no one else does, whether they be two or four legged. I also tend to be a bit hyper and am extremely sensitive to emotions. If mom is angry or upset I have an adverse reaction. I look forward to getting to know everyone and am very appreciative of the stories that have already been shared on the forum thread.

Annabelle, I don't think you scared anyone off smile! Bob's mom and my mom first talked about this topic privately and then his mom started the topic, it languished for a bit before anyone posted (including me!). Things will pick up, in fact I am going to start a thread about my brother Buzby!

Hi Annebelle and Rascall~

Sorry for the late post introducing myself and the fam. Momma's very busy on the weekends, during the week, all the time! So she usually doens't get a lot of internet time unless she's at work. 8 )

Anyway, I live w/my best friend Iggy and my Mom and Dad. Iggy lived w/them first as a 10 week old pup and I joined the family about 6 months later. Iggy and I are both the same age and we're both rescue dogs. I've had quite an interesting life leading up to joing my forever home and you can read about it at my page but I'll give a brief bio here:

I was a stray in Wichita, KS and got hit by a car..best they can tell..so I was set to be put down. But, a Siberian resuce in Harvard heard about me and arranged a transport. A couple from Iowa went down and got me and then someone from Harvard went out to Iowa. We also were contacted by the couple who saw my picture here on dogster so we were able to fill some of my missing pieces. Anyway, so I came to Harvard and they fixed my leg, which was only dislocated, and I went to Madison, WI to live w/this guy.

Now about this time, Iggy was getting really really lonely. When Mom and dad got him, Daddy was out of work so he spent all day w/Iggy. But then daddy got a job and Iggy flipped out. It was really too much for him. And they tried crating and that just made it worse. So daddy suggested another dog and mom was not happy because Iggy had been so much work. But daddy found these cute little puppy pictures at the same rescue that had me and so they talked to the rescue about the puppies, filled out the application and made an appointment to bring Iggy to meet the puppies. Mommy was really nervious and didn't know to much about siberians and these puppies were supposed to be half siberian.

Now..the day before they came to see the puppies, the lady from the rescue called mommy and asked her if she'd consider another dog..ME! Apparently, the man I was with happened to sneeze a lot because I was there so he was bringing me back.. Whatever. Mommy wasn't sure but when the lady said crate trained and house trained..she said yes, we'll definitily consider ME. So....That cold January i was in the car on the way back to the shelter. And Mommy and daddy had Iggy in the back of our hatchback focus...When they got to the rescue, daddy went in first and Mom stayed outside w/Iggy. While they were in the car, I pulled up. And I jumped out w/the guy and I was actually so excited to see my lady friends that had taken care of me when I had my hurt leg that I was pulling on the leash really hard and the guy was holding me back w/all his might.

Iggy was really excited to see me, even through the window and mamma thought i must be really strong to have that big guy struggling w/me. But anyway... they took me and Iggy out to a large fenced in area and I was all irrated because I'd just been in the car for so long so I growled at Iggy. And Mommy and daddy got kinda scared...but Iggy didn't and he just kept sniffing and then we started playing and before you know it we were running around like no tomorrow! It was a lot of fun. So...needless to say, the rescue ladies dropped me off at mommy and daddy's home that night and I've been there ever since!

Sorry for that being so long. But, I've been w/my family since Jan '04, and I've really settled into being such a big part of the family. This morning, I whoooed all over the place. I just felt like singing. And it made mommy and daddy laugh because I didn't stop. I think this is a great group and more people will come.

Oh..and mommy's name is Becky and Daddy's name is Dave and we live in Wonder Lake, IL which is about 2 hours northwest of Chicago almost to the Wisconsin boarder.

I love your story, Lucy, welcome! And Rascal, I am sure the group will pick up! I was just teasing aboout scaring doggies/people! It's just some are not that open-minded to believe in a group like this. That's OK, though.

I am looking forward to many more stories, and making many more friends!

Hi, everyone! My name is Mr. Doolittle, but you can call me Doo (just don't call me late to dinner - BOL BOL puppy )
My mom lives in "the greater Phoenix area" in AZ. It's like L.A. - 6-7 towns grown so big they've all really merged into 1.
Mom now takes care of 3 doggies and 2 kitties. I got to meet all of them except the newest doggie - Kipopo - it took mom a while to get over loosing me before she added him to the family. Little Miss Poni was my bestest friend! and bestest sister! I miss her a lot!
I know I am going to enjoy this group very much!
Again, I am soooo very pleased that you invited me to pack, THANKS SO VERY MUCH!!!!
Woof-Woof!!!!!!!

Hi guys. Wow, we all did it. We have a group. Woof Woof! I am so excited I'm going to lift my leg (like I did when I was living on earth all the time!, no matter where I was!).

I am on the other side now but have communicated with my human companion a few times. Unfortunately, she cannot recall one of the very first communiiques (she must have Alzheinmer's), but the SECOND one she remembers clearly.

I had passed on about a week earlier and they were waiting for my ashes to bring home. But here, let my companion tell it in her own words:

Thanks Bob! Well, we were all pretty upset and about a week had gone by and I got a call that Bob's ashes were ready to be picked up. I was with my two daughters, ages 10 and 6 ,in the car running errands. So we went over to the vet, picked up Bob's ashes and drove over to my mom's to get something (I can't rememebr what). Now, I am a very big believer that people and animals communicate with you after they pass on, you just have to be open to when it happens - people miss the communications alll the time. The theory is there are no coincidences.

Anyhow, my older daughter ran into her grandma's house to get whatever it was and I was sitting in the car in the driveway feeling pretty low. I picked up the cedar box with Bob's ashes in it and was really looking at it, feeling sad, and I was thinking, I wish you were here, I wish I knew you were OK. I was very deep in thought.

At that very moment, my 6 year old, in the backseat said, "Oh, here mom, I just found this." So I'm kinda not paying attention and she hands me something. It was an old dog tag of Bob's - it had his name on it - one that I used briefly about 2 years earlier. I hadn't' seen it for ages. Well, I was flabbergasted.

I said, 'Where was this?" and she says, " I just saw it between the seats back here." So then I kind of grilled her - "Did you bring it in?" "No." "Were you looking at it earlier?" "No." She just kept saying that she had just seen it right then and had not seen it earlier.

The poor kid - about two days later, I grilled her again. Bottom line, she claims she just suddenly saw it wedged in the seat, and my other daughter didn't know anything about the tag at all.

So I believe without a doubt that Bob was communicating with me, telling me he was around. And yes, there was another thing that happened right before too, which I can't remember for the life of me.

Lucy, what a great story! Both me and my sister Rosie are from the animal shelter. Lucy, you kind of sound a lot like Rosie, she likes to sing too. Or is it more like howling?

I do believe we all end up with the families we are meant to be with.

I think this group is going to be really fun!

here is a story I posted in my dairy. If you already read it I'm sorry, but it's more for the new people who may join up:

Diary entry:

AUG 7, 2006: A very odd thing has happened RE: Bob that I wish to share with any who are wondering if pets communicate from beyond. Well, this is what happened yesterday.

But first let me backtrack a bit...

Bob passed away about 15 months ago. Prior to that he had been on Dogster about one year. During those 12 months he got maybe six requests to be a pup pal. (The rest of the pals noted on his site are the co-links from our other dog Rosie.) Right after he passed, he got a couple of requests.

After that, about a year went by. Rosie got quite a few requetss but Bob didn't get any. I was thinking just about six weeks ago, that Bob obviously wasn't getting many requests and that was probably how it was going to be. My mom was sick and I was thinking about him a lot. I was wishing he would communicate somehow. A day or two later, there was an email request for a pup pal. I opened it, assuming it was for Rosie, but it was for Bob. It did enter my head I had made a request for communication, but was realistic that this was all just a nice coincidence.

I clicked on the pup photo and it was SASSY, and she took my breath away. It was as if I was looking at Bob, Sassy looked identical, same facial expression, markings and coloring. I wrote to Saasy's family about this coincidence and how it really moved me

I never heard back from Sassy's family. Then yesterdy morning, on my daughter' s 12th birthday, I was looking at the little black cocker spaniel statuary I have outisde my bedroom patio. It looks so much like Bob and I thought long and hard about how much I missed him. Later that afternoon, about six weeks afteer that unanswered mail to Sassy, Sassy sent a reply. In it, her family noted that they didn't realize they had mail. Certainly, a COINCIDENCE it was sent on my daughter's birthday, but again I just shrugged it off.

That email was sent at 1:14 p.m. By 3 p.m. I had received TEN addiitonal requests for Bob to be a pup pal. None for Rosie, all for Bob. That totalled 11 emails for Bob in one hour and 45 minutes. After the first 4 emails, I thought someone must be playing a joke. I get a lot of emails but after that 4th email, evey time the sound went off signaling a new email, I literally was scared to open the mail application. It was always a new request for Bob to be a pup pal. One of them was 4 minutes apart, both from totally different people.

Within 24 hours, I had 40 pup pal requests for Bob. What I found out later was that Sassy had posted a message somewhere asking folks to say hi to Bob. The fact that her email response to me, her post on the message board, and the pup pals requests all happened on my daughter's birthday - right after I asked Bob to communiicate with me - is a coincidence I can't help but believe was another message from Bob.

I might also add that I rarely ask Bob to communicate with me. I thnk of him a lot, but in a joyous happy way.

Annabelle,
I just read the quote from Hamlet and your sub-heads and description for this group. They are really nice. I happen to be a big fan of Shakespeare.

Good work!
