My mommy just got me a month ago and wants to make me some cute clothes, but she doesn't know where to find any patterns. I wear an XXS. Can anyone help her out?

Hi, I know that there are patterns at the sewing store under Simplicity or McCalls etc. Good luck and remember to leave room to grow!

My mom just put my Princess TuTu pattern in her ebay store - Sierra Cottage. It includes instructions how to adjust the pattern to fit you. Sizes in patterns and ready made clothes vary so you might be one size for one manufacturer and another size in another. Whew, wouldn't it be nice if everybody did the same sizing?

I'm longer in length than a size small so my mom adds an inch to the bottom of the bodice and an inch to the hem and I'm good. I'de swim in a medium and the extra small is too tight in the chest. I wore an extra small until I was a year old. . . . . . . .

Hi Ladies....Mama just wanted to let you know of some resources
she has run across......www.sweet-lucys.com.........a good site w/
a list of books, etc with patterns. On main page, click the 'doggie
boutique' line and it will take you to the info......
Also..... on ebay I found a lady that has dog clothes pattern books.
.....pomadour24......is the seller. They are in Japanese, but a
pattern is a pattern is a pattern. I got 3 of them. She still has 2 left.
The one with the dog on the chair in the blue shirt and the one with
the dog with the yellow/ brown shirt. They have great patterns in
them. ALSO...are full size patterns too.....but you have to trace over
them...can't cut them out. They are on both sides of the paper but
the most extensive collection of DIFFERENT patterns I have found
yet.....got great service from this ebay seller. Also, the only clothes
Mama has made me so far (finished that is ....hahahhaa) is because
she took a seam ripper and carefully took apart one of my PetSmart
t-shirts that I finally wore out and made a pattern out of it. Also
one of those little 'Hawaiin shirts" she got on sale for $3 at Icings,
she bought that solely so she could use it for a pattern. It was
cheaper than patterns like Simplicity, etc. Just wanted to let you
know cause Mama has loooked and looooked and loooked for
patterns and these are the best sources she has found yet.......

The easiest way to trace the patterns is to use lightweight interfacing. You will end up with a durable pattern piece that you can write on - and it lasts forever. My mom writes notes with the date on the pattern pieces so she can remember the adjustments that she made. She also keeps her patterns in a notebook in page protectors. Otherwise her studio would look like it exploded!!! BOL!!!!

Yeah, my Mama has a problem with notations......she forgets to
make them!!!!! hahahaha !!! And next time she goes to cut something out, she goes, "is there a seam allowance on this thing or
not??"......(She's trying to sell her property so her brain is otherwise
focused I guess) She had a 'lightning bolt' a couple of years ago. She
was in the doctor's office and realized that the paper on the table
she was sitting on would make great PATTERN PAPER !!! When she
asked them could she have it, they looked at her funny...when she
told them why, they still looked at her funny, but that white paper
you sit on is thicker than regular pattern paper, thinner than onion
skin and FREE...FREE...FREE......so that is what she has been using
to make or trace patterns since. When she ran out, she went to a
local Dr. office and asked them would they sell her a couple of
lengths and told them what she wanted it for.......the lady came back
with a WHOLE ROLL of this stuff........HOW SWEET WAS THAT??!!!!!!
They gave her a whole role of it.......That called for a 'thank you'
hug !!!! She can't wait to get moved so she can get back to sewing
for me again !!!!

What a neat idea! The best is that it is free . . . . . . . My mom also has a couple of Japanese dog pattern books but it drives her crazy because the instructions are all in Japanese so she comes up with her own stuff. Did I tell you that my mom is impatient? I saw her cutting out fabric last night and she tried something on me. I think she is working on my Halloween TuTu! Yipee!

Hey Miss Juliet.....I imagine your Mama has the same publisher of
these 'Japanese' books. I can't imagine there are too many
different publishers of Japanese dog clothes books. At least they
have more variety than say, Simplicity or Kwik Sew etctetcetc....
that's what Mama wanted them for. Lots of different styles.
Mama's pretty patient, but HER ATTENTION SPAN IS GONE !!!!!!!!
hahahaaa !!! I wonder if that is what happens when you get
semi-old ???!!!!! haha!!! Mama says the interfacing would likely
last longer than the paper......she didn't even think about using
that. She's just had a good time with all the 'funny looks' when she
has a Dr. appt. and asks for the paper she has been sitting on !!!!!!
Have another good tip I ran across a while back......need some
good 'snippers' as in embroidery type snippers???? In most craft
stores or fabric stores they run from $6-$10. BUT....if you check
the WalMart fabric section......in the 'basic' supply section, they
have a pack of stuff that has the seam ripper, metal hem tape AND
the snippers for 88 cents. YES.....88 cents. They are the SHARPEST
I have found.....I bought 5 packs of this stuff just so I could get the
snippers. (They are not 'branded', just in the basic supply stuff.)
I also use them on parts of Angel, in the bathroom, in the sewing
room,etcetcetcetc.....they get up really close when it comes time
to cut the tags out of her store bought sweaters......
Woof !!! Woof!!!!!

Thanks for the tip about the snippers . . . , my mom trolls Walmart fabric department frequently! I have heard my mom says she isn't getting old she's "just blonde" for whatever that means! She says I'm blonde , too. I think it means we're girls 'cause she doesn't say that to Romeo! She did buy a new pattern from Kwik Sew for Romeo - its a real cool denim jacket. Maybe she'll do a matching one for me and put lace on the collar or rhinestones. I love rhinestones! The pattern also has a bathrobe and this totally neat roll around tube like house. I would love it but my mom said it is for a cat or a really small pup cause it is only 17 inches long. It would be so neat to roll around in it. I heard mom say she can make it longer - put it on the list to do!!!
