I'm the fifth GSP in my human's family. They all hunted.

I TRY, I honestly do. I love to chase birds and it took me years to learn how to POINT. My Mommy says I have a great nose and I always find the birds first. The problem is I'm always a mile away from any gun! I just go crazy out there.

Mommy say I'm a pacifist.

Every fall they think I'll settle down but it hasn't happened yet! BOL!

ya my mommy thinks that could be good at hunting as no matter where i go i can always find the birds and sometimes bunnies too!
I am good at pointing but as soon as the bird or bunny moves i'm off chasing them(hehe) sometimes i rather chase them then point!

I try to hunt, but there are just no birds around! Grandpa said the grouse hide in the winter! Dad keeps working with me though, and when the grouse come out I'll be ready!

I've been hunting Lame Ducks lately, Spike. You know, the delusional kind. I keep seeing them on that boring news show that Dad has on around dinner time.

Hi! I'm Kena and I just joined this group.

Yesterday my dad took me hunting for the second time. I'm still figuring out the fine points ... wink The gun is loud but I'm not too scared of it. I love pointing but haven't remembered to do it in the field to help my dad. Well, I retrieved two woodcock for my dad and today I am so tired. Mom is still picking thorns out of my fur smile Back to bed!

Chelsea here, mom thinks that my sister and I would make good field dogs, but we live in the bronx and don't really know how we can get started and if we are really any good at it. I know that when I go to the park and see the pigeons, I stop, and stay real still, I don't even blink, I don't bark and my tail goes straight up. Mom loves watching me do this. And as for my sister Sassy (black lab) lately her paw goes up and is standing on three legs staring at the squirrels. Any suggestions?

We both hunt, my sister Destiny and I.

Our mom has worked for a pro trainer, and is a pro handler as well. We also track, do obedience and show. She's said something about doing agility as well..but later down the line.

Hunt training is more than just going out and finding birds...you have to be on a check cord and learn the finer skills..like..."whoa".

Destiny is not a whoa kinda girl, but I do it to make mom happy...lol

Hi , Nope I don't hunt and am afraid of loud gunlike noises. I run and stick my head under mom's arm just in case when I hear them. However I do love sniffing things out in the yard. I find all knids of things for her. We have birds ( my mom feeds them) bunnies squirrels and chipmunks and mice !! I found a dead mouse one time and showed her where it was. I only have 3 legs front left is missing so going on point is a little tough for me but I do it in my way to get the point across. We even have deer in our yard sometimes. They scare me they are big !!! I think i scare them too because they run one way and i run the other LOL
