How did you decide on a Havanese?

	My owner heard about the breed by buying a dog breed book. She was looking for an affectionate dog like me & her best choice was a Havanese (she didnt want a shedding dog).

	My 10 year old daughter and I were researching dog breeds online for months as a hobby. I fell in love with all the characteristics and look of the Havanese. I had never actually seen a Havanese in person. After convincing my husband to get an indoor dog, we got Oliver. We bought him from an out of state breeder, but I picked him out through photos when he was 2 weeks old. We've never had an indoor dog before, but I will never be without a Havanese. I cannot explain how much we love this dog. My husband and son love that he is sturdy and strong and and his playfulness and my daughter and I love his affection and attention. We are so happy with our decision to get a Havanese. I'm ready for a second Havanese, but my husband hasn't gotten to that point yet.

	I went to a canine fest at the fairgrounds, looking for a small dog for our family, there in the show ring were all the HAPPY hav's OMG! I played with one for about 30 mins I swear couldn't leave them, I got names of breeders and had Bailey in about a months time! cant imagine my life without one!

	My mom wanted a smaller, low-shedding, mellow dog that could get along with her pet chickens. She took several online quizzes that recommended bulldogs, toy spaniels, and bichons. Bulldogs have too many health problems for her taste, spaniels shed more than she'd like, so she started researching the Bichon group of dogs. She came across AKC's description of the Havanese that said we've been used to herd poultry. She also liked that we come in colors other than white. She looked for a rescue Havanese or Hav mix but had no luck. She found me in the paper for a good price from a local breeder, and brought me home! She says I'm perfect.
