Hi friends!
My mommy and daddy took me swimming last weekend at Snyder Park in FL. My brother (a Jack Russell) was swimming laps for over an hour ... but I was so scared of the water! I was just wondering if my being afraid of going swimming was due to it being my first time, or if it was because I'm a Boston! Do any of you all like to swim???

Hi Miss Emma,
I don't know if it just a first time or a Boston thing - there is a post on the Boston Terrier Group page about being afraid of water. I think it is a first time thing because I've seen several photos while on stroll of Boston's playing in pools and even a couple in lifejackets at the lake. I used to be afraid of it, but my mom and dad keep introducing it to and I'm getting better. I even stand in my brother's wading pool now. Maybe your mom and dad could keep working with you between now and the next time you go to the lake and you won't be so afraid next time?

My 3 do not like playing in water either. Maybe if you start off small and work up you may enjoy the water.Maybe have your Mom give you a kiddie pool with a little bit of water in it.

Hi!
The first time I went swimming I didn't know what to expect. I didn't give it much thought though after seeing my big bro the yellow lab dive right in without hesitation . You know Im pretty brave and I followed right on his heels but as soon as I hit the water I froze. So now I realize I just like cooling my feet and let the big boys fetch the ball, I'll just take it from them before their out of the water. haha Im smarter than them. : )

OMG! I must be a weirdo. I LOVE to swim!!!!!

My mom took me to this pond once. It was a hot day so she walked me into the water to cool off. She only intended for me to go in up to my chest. I started swimming, and she had to chase after me to make sure i didn't go out too far! I thought it was the funnest thing EVER!!!

Also, if my people aren't careful i'll jump into the fountain on the green on walks. Heh.

Hi, Miss Emma! I get kinda scared to swim too when the water gets real deep. Or if the water is COLD! I like swimming better if I can walk into the water from the shore. Swimming pools are fun too.
