come and tell us all a little more about yourselves, where you came from, how you ended up in the awesome homes you now rule... I mean have...
What is the best thing about you? What is the worst thing about you?

I was rescued when I was 4 days old, from a farm that had 82 dogs on it. My Mama protected me by hiding me and my siblings in the seat of a broken car. I was adopted when I was 7 weeks old, and I liked my owner, but he was in the army and got transfered out of the country so he gave me away to a horrible man who had a sled-dog farm in Quebec, there I was starved and beaten. I was beaten so bad that it broke my spirit. It took me many many years not to be afraid of anyone but my Mom. I would growl at people and back away. Now I will be turning 11 years old on the 26th of April and I am a happy go lucky, sensitive boy who loves EVERYONE! I'm glad that I am finally truly happy and have let go of my past.

I was rescued when I was a puppy too. Then when my owner got me spayed I had a reaction and I have spay incontinence, so my owner put me in the basement and left me there. I didn't see people or other dogs for 3 years. Then I was rescued again. Two people took me home "forever", but I was too hard to handle and they both brought me back. I was also in 4 other foster homes. In one foster home a dog that was visiting my foster owners for a while, bit me really badly, and guess where I ended up being kept... Yep... in the basement! Now I am with my Mama and I really love her. I am still really bad when I go outside, I try to attack dogs and go crazy, but Mom makes sure I am never able to reach another dog. I hope to someday be like my brother Jacob and let go of the neglect that I suffered. Mom says we're getting there!

I was a cardboard box baby. Found dumped on the side of the road with my 9 litter mates. We were dying! Funny... there was a "breeder" about five miles away who just happened to be breeding black labs and golden retrievers, and were'nt we all just that mix, some pure black, and some like me! I was only four weeks old and cried ALOT! I had fleas and worms. For some reason the enamel on my adult teeth never deleloped properly, and I have had poly-arthritis for many of my 10 and a half years... great place I came from! But you know what... I am just a huge fluff ball of a baby. I guess being weaned on a bottle by my human Mama gave us a pretty special bond, and I have never quite grown out of my baby stage... but my mom thinks it's endearing!

the best thing about me is that I give my Mama hugs, put my paws on either side of her and lay my head on chest...
the worst thing about me is that I still bark alot at strange dogs and Mama gets embarrased.

the best thing about me is my tiny little tail that never stops wagging.
the worst thing about me is that I can wiggle out of a dry diaper at night and wee on the bed.

the best thing about me is that I am one of the best soccer players alive, a can stop any ball and steal it back in a second.
the worst thing about me is that my tail can clear any coffee table or take out a small child.

Hey everyone - I'm Jake! Mom and dad got me from a very nice rescue lady who saved me from being put to sleep! I was born to a backyard breeder, and when she realized I had double dew claws she didn't think she could get any money for me, so she stuck me in a crate for months before she finally called animal control to come pick me and my doggie mom up to be euthanized! She said my mom was too sick to have any more puppies and was just costing her money.

Thankfully the nice animal control officer took me to a rescue group, with my dog mom, and we both found new homes. I've had mom and dad now for five years! At first I didn't know what that grass stuff was, or the sky... I had never seen it, and wasn't used to not being in a litte crate - but now I love to be outside!

My biggest weakness..... FRISBEE! I would do anything for a frisbee! Gotta go now - time for bed. Hopefully mom and I will be back soon...........

i was born on the navajo reservation in new mexico. my birth mom hid us under a porch of an old house where some high school boys came to smoke and do bad stuff. they weren't very nice to us. One day a nice couple found us and they came to feed my mom everyday until we were old enough to be weaned. then they gave us all to my foster mom. she took real good care of us and when my brothers and sisters were big enough, they all got adopted but i was still too little. my foster mom said she loved me too much by that time to give me up but she already had two dogs so she couldn't keep me. so i got to ride on a big airplane all by myself to ohio where my foster mom's sister lives. now she's my new mom and my foster mom is my aunt carrie. i have a sister too. she is from new mexico and my aunt carrie rescued her too.
my sister was almost starved to death when aunt carrie found her. but now we're both healthy, happy, and super friendly pups.
