That`s a great idea! We just need to figure out what our petition should say and where we will send it. Who could take action against puppy mills, who could we influence with our petition?

Momo, cats can't join this group to help us. I just tried to invite Zeb (the one who posted on catster for you) and it won't let me. Should a different group be started for cats or do you want to let them join this group? Zeb's catster id is 260340.

well I don't know why cats can't join, but I guess once we have something going some nice kitty can post it on catster,too
I think an important step is to make a plan how we want to do this. Do we want to stop puppymills by trying to achieve better animal protection laws or "just" get rid of the mills? If there were laws that would state how dogs need to be treated mills have to be forbidden. dogs need excerise, food, water, vetenerian care...
also puppymills go back to petstores, so people should be informed about why they should not buy from puppymills.
If we do get a petition going, who would we send it to with which specific request? Would that be a state thing or a national thing? I am just trying to get some ideas, so help me out here and spit them out!

hi i'm brea's sister. i think the petition should be a national thing. there's dogs from all over on this site.
about the cats: the group admin needs to go into some sort of settings thing. there's a part in creating a group where you pick who's allowed in the group. you would just need to go into that and allow cats to join.
