Sampson was on canidae from the time we brought him home. Recently at our chuck and dons food store out here looking for bones we were reccomended to give him a raw bone. This was wednesday. He loved it. BUT, he got massive diareah in the middle of the night. I spoke with the vet and she said it was colitis. She did a sample and nothing came back ruling anything else. She told me to give him boiled hamburger, rice and plain yougurt. We did that, and little by little reintroduced his canidae. He was having good stools, then today at his first full canidae feeding he got massive diarea again. He is acting "mostly normal", other than diareaha.
My husband seems to think it is the canidae, but just came at a conicidence of the raw bone. Now he wants to switch to eagle pack. Not sure what to do to make my sam better. Any advice would be great. Thanks BTW- is it normal for danes to have sensitive tummys?

Sampson your adorable.. Sorry your not feeling well.

The Raw bone may have been contaminated and caused a host of problems. and feeding boiled hamburger rice and yogurt corrected the problem.

We are a FIRM believer in Eagle Pac Foods we feed eaglepac.
Danes do have sensitive stomachs. give Sam some Plain Vanilla yogurt about 1-2 tablespoons 2-3 times a day. that will help settle his stomach, Yogurt will be introducing good cultures into his system.
Eagle Pac has all the ingredients including yogurt that a Great Danes system will require to maintain a healthy System, his coat and skin will also improve.

If you are more inclined to feed RAW such as the bone you gave Sampson, you'll need to find a reliable source that has quality products.

Eaglepac.com has a locator on their website to help you find a supplier in your area that sells Eagle pac Kibble ,canned foods, treats

Hope you feel better real soon

Im sure other's will help with suggestions
Feel better soon Sam
