A good place to start would be the Golden Retriever Club of America.

One thing my daddy did was buy a Golden Retrivers For Dummies and a Puppies For Dummies book. Both have tons of usful puppy picking info. Also the web has an infinite amount of useful information. dog

Make sure the breeders you consider do health clearances on their dogs: Hips, Elbows, Heart, Eyes. Double check the info on K9data.com which lists many goldens/and or OFA.org. The breeder should not have several litters at once, should not advertise "rare" white goldens(no such thing-marketing ploy), and should interview you too. Best of luck finding your puppy!
