Prednisone gives some extra time and mimics a remission. However, once you use prednisone, you cannot go back to chemo/radiation.

There's a golden on grf.com, Meggie, who has been in lymphoma remission for more than a year

I'm so sorry to hear about the dogs who have been diagnosed. What a hard thing to go thru. My Golden - Sergio is still healthy - 6, starting to get joint issues. I'd like to know what some of the first symptoms you noticed that led you to the vets and subsequent diagnosis. I'd like to know what to look out for without being paranoid.
Thanks and best wishes for your babies!
