We have a male doxie named Hansel. He is 2your years old. Do doxies need to be raised in pairs? If so should his new pal be a female doxie or will a different female breed be ok?

I have always been told that doxies are a prejudiced breed, and having 6 dogs of my own and 1 foster doxie, I believe it. 2 of my dogs are doxies, a male and a female. My foster is also a female doxie. The 3 of them pretty much ignore all the rest of the crew. They tolerate them but don't socialize with them much at all. So if you're thinking of a dog buddy for your male doxie, I suggest a female doxie for him.
