 | | | | My fatherinlaw recently got a darling black mini-dachshund. Unfortunately, it's been years since he had his last dachshund, and is rusty about housetraining. He isn't being really consistent with her. He's had her about 3 weeks now, and she's having numerous accidents in the house, regularly. Not good...but he's the one who needs to be trained, so he can train her.
I'm not as familiar with small breeds as I am with large ones, so I'm wondering...does it usually take longer for small breeds (like doxies) to be housebroken? Is it more difficult than large breeds, does anyone know, or have experience with this?
I'm trying to help him, and being subtle with suggestions, as he doesn't seem receptive to much advice. I'm stopping by there tomorrow with "The Power Of Positive Dog Training". Maybe that will help him learn.
Oh, and thank you to those who answered my previous question re: toys and crate for a doxie puppy. | | | | |
