|My family and I would normally just use a natural cleaning agent for urine as readily available cleaning agents could tend to cost a lot. Well, we're more of saving more and spending less so here's what we do to create our own natural cleaning agent:
1. Combine one part hydrogen peroxide and two parts water. Let the mixture sit on the spot for five to ten minutes before blotting up the moisture.
2. Add in undiluted white vinegar. Soak the area completely and let it sit for several minutes before blotting dry.
3. Mix in baking soda. Cover the area with baking soda and let it sit for a few hours. Vacuum.
However, you must remember not to use Hydrogen Peroxide that is higher in concentrate than 3%. Bleaching may occur on some carpets with a stronger solution. A small spot test in an inconspicuous area is advised before proceeding. Always read the label on the Hydrogen Peroxide carefully. The label will state the strength.
