I'm torn between buying a new vacuum or a spotbot so I was hoping Spotbot owners could chime in and let me know if theirs was worth the price tag, where they bought it, and how much it cost. Do you buy the solutions they have for it or do you use something else?

ETA:
Has anyone had any problems with spots they've 'botted' collecting dirt after a few months due to soap residue? I've seen a few complaints about that on Amazon. thinking

I have a spot bot and love it!

I use the solutions that bissel makes but in instances like where Bella had diarrhea on the carpet i also spray natures miracle on the stain.

I think the cheapest one when i was looking was on amazon.

But I bought a refurbished Dyson off of overstock.com and would buy refurbished form them again.

We loooove our SpotBot. I've used the Bissell solutions as well as the Walmart brand ones, and both work equally well. I splurged on mine, but you can look for sales or coupons. Maybe try google shopping to see different prices on them.

That's a good idea Bella&Daisy about buying a refurbished Dyson. I'll have to look into that. thinking Cheapest I've been finding is $140 for the Spotbot which is still cheaper then a new vacuum so I might go with that. We'll see I guess!

I LOVE my Spotbot!!! I can't imagine not having it. Mine is not the new heated one that they offer now...I've had it for maybe 4 years now. thinking

Nothing could be easier to use when it comes to getting out pet stains. We have light beige carpet, so it shows everything. If it weren't for my Spotbot, we'd have had to replace the carpet long before now.

I've never had a problem with the soap residue causing a stain, but I mostly use just the Bissell cleaning products, especially the OxyGen2 (LOVE IT!!). I sometimes use whatever store brand Walmart has but I always make sure it's for compact machines...I don't know if that really makes a difference, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

There's no way I could have 6 dogs and wall to wall carpet without my Spotbot.

My mom got me my Spotbot for Christmas this year. She got a 'remanufactured' one on ebay for 75 dollars (she forgot to take the receipt out of the box!). I like it a lot and have used it with a bunch of different shampoos. I really like Woolite brand.

I want to ask though, I don't understand why you're looking at a new vacuum or a SpotBot? The SpotBot will not take the place of a vacuum, goodness I could not imagine crawling all over the room with that little wand. It is strictly for nasty carpet and upholstery stains. You need to vacuum before using it because it's not made to suck up lots of hair. So, a good vacuum is still necessary.

Well I already have a vacuum, but I feel like it isn't getting all the dirt so I was considering replacing it. It's just a cheap dirt devil we bought when we were broke and needed a new vacuum because the old one broke. My boyfriend on the other hand thinks the vacuum is fine and wants a spotbot instead for the carpet stains, so I was wondering if it was worth the price tag.

ETA: eventually I'll probably have both laugh out loud

I love my SpotBot! I buy the Bissel and Walmart brands as well. I've never needed to buy the special enzymatic cleaners.
