After getting really excited or overstimulated himself in another way, Zeus begins to wheeze and occasionally cough. Usually this goes on for less than thirty seconds, but sometimes it does go on for a minute or more.

Zeus's previous owner stated that Zeus does have asthma, although we haven't checked him out with our vet yet.

I suppose what I'm really asking is: is there any treatment for his asthma? Or does my poor chihuahua have to suffer with it? frown

You probably have reverse sneezes, which are harmless. Tinker, my papillon gets thems sometimes (usually when she drinks water too fastred face) The vet can tell you if thats what they are for sure. If you look up videos for reverse sneezed on utube, you can compair symtoms with you dog. Hope that helps!

you might have what i have a oversize flap that sepperates windpipeand esopegus (spelling bad?)if i get excited it catches and it sounds as if i'm having breathing problems,but there are some of us that have alleries.
