Tippa has dry, itchy skin, which I've been told is common of Chis. Just curious how often you bathe your babies and what shampoo you use? The vet suggested once a month with regular brushing and use of a moisturizing shampoo. Thanks!

Piper gets a bath about once a month, unless she gets into something.

We use a shampoo with collodial oatmeal in it. Our vet told us to look for that specific ingredient and it seems to have helped her dry skin quite a bit.

We also picked up an after bath spray from DVM (at the vets but sold over the counter) that contains Pramoxine (??) and colloidal oatmeal.

Cha Cha also always seemed to suffer from dry, itchy skin. But we had a horrible incident in October with an allergic reaction to corn in her food. That's how I came to find Dogster! Anyway, since we switched to a better dog food her skin is WAY better. She rarely scratches at all any more. I think she'd always been sensitive to the corn in the food, and that's why she was always so itchy. Her eyes don't water and run like they used to either. But if she does need a bath, cuz there is nothing better than rolling in something really stinky in the yard, we use an oatmeal shampoo.

Hi, my mommy uses Halo Herbal Shampoo when I get my bath. She also gives me a fish oil supplement. I never get itchy, and I am very shiny!

Thanks for all of the responses! Now using shampoo with oatmeal and Omega 3 fish oil supplement on her food and it's working very well. She is very shiny now!
