Rascal

I'm a rotten- rascal

How many here take their dogs traveling? Rascal is still young and destructive and I can't leave him out when we are gone. He aggravates the cats and lately he has taken to trying to drag my blanket off my bed. Plus, and most importantly, he is still not completely housebroken. He's making great progress but still has accidents. This morning he peed on the floor before I could get my clothes on to take him out.

So Rascal will be going with us for Turkey Day to my brother's house. This is the same brother who rescued Rascal in the first place. He has a kennel and his pittie "Baby" is the dog Rascal was raised with. He looks forward to seeing the progress in Rascal now that he is an indoor dog. I will also be teaching my brother how to use the "gentle leader" on Baby.

I have been a couple of times with my parents to San Diego (about a 3 1/2 hour drive) and I do great. They take my crate so I can sleep in comfort if they have to leave me, but I do okay. They don't trust me out in the hotel room because I am VERY distructive if left alone. I can destroy a room in a matter of minutes. shrug Personally, I don't understand the problem, it's not like it's our house I am destroying... I am just trying to have a little fun, too.... dancing laugh out loud

We take our boxers with us pretty much everywhere. We only leave them home if we are going out for a short time (like to a nice restaurant that they are not allowed to be on a patio at) They are going with us for a large family gathering for thanksgiving this year (for once I am not cookin it!) and will be there with a husky mix pup, a 13 year old border, a pug, and a golden retriever! As well as a cat. laugh out loud And there will be at least 11 humans. wink It means paying some real close attention to what they are up to so you don't have a boxer streaking thru the house clutching a turkey with an irate cook following them! big laugh Personally, I think that if you are willing to take the time and effort, your dogs will thank you for it.

We have a thirty foot trailer that we have so that Hubbie me and th"kids" can go with us everywhere. Motels became hard ( and very dirty) over the years, we grew up camping and have always loved it. We manage to work things out so were all always together.
