Hello all! I am new to this forum, and I have rescued a beautiful Aussie pup.....I think.
She certainly looks like an Aussie (red tri). But since she was a rescue from a family that found her, I am not sure if she is pure breed. I have a couple of photos of her on her page, so any input from you guys would help. She definately has all the correct markings, and loves to try and herd all of our friends and families dogs, but her coat seems short compared to pics I have seen of the breed standard. She's only 4 months old however. I'm excited to be here, and I love my new Aussie!! Come see Cali !big grin

Hello Cali!!

My name's Colby and I am also a rescue Aussie pup! My mommy also pondered if I am purebreed or not, and now she is pretty much 100% sure that I am! I really think you are purebreed, you look a lot like me! I am about your age and my fur is pretty short too. My mommy can't wait for it to grow!

YAY! FOR AUSSIES! happy dance

At four months you still have puppy fur. Maggie had puppy fur until she was well into a year old (at 18 months she finally had puffy Aussie fur...kinda).

But she does look very Aussie!!

Some Aussies don't have the fluffy coat. I noticed in a lot of working lines that the coat isn't so fluffy as the Aussies bred for conformation.

Yours is still a pup and it can take up to 3 years to get the adult coat in.

Patches doesn't have the full fluffy coat, he has a medium coat.

Yes thats true you still have your puppy coat but from looking at your pictures, you look like a purebreed to me
I'm 8 months old and I still have most of my puppy coat too
I look kinda funny at times, because my adult fur hasent come in yet but thats ok I'm not in any rush to grow up anyway! puppy
