There are tons of things I love about Dogster. It's informative, educational and there are fantastic people on the site who are wonderfully willing to help out in a moments notice. However, there are also things that make me go "Grrrrrrrrr" and want to bite someone.

For example:
People who write in their pet's voice using what they think would be their pet's way of speaking, ie., really bad grammar, poor conjugation of verbs, etc.,.

Now I realize that many think it's cute and funny. We all imagine what our pets would sound like if they could actually talk. However, it makes it very difficult to read (I lose interest) and it also makes my ears rings and my hair curl when I have to read it. Yes, it's a personal problem, but it still makes me want to bite the writer naughty

Another "grrrrrrrr" of mine is why do people wait so long to get their pets to the vet?

I get very concerned when I read about some apparently serious health issue, yet the owner is wasting time asking Dogster folks instead of going to the vet. Granted, there are many knowlegable people on the site, yet we all know that no one here can diagnose a pet without actually seeing it in person, and I've yet to see an actual vet here in Dogster answering those questions. As commentors, we can only make suggestions based on our own experience and , in the meantime, the pet still hasn't been seen by a vet in spite of the fact that we're all telling them to get going now.

I understand that these issues are going to continue and I'll just have to deal with it. I just needed to growl a bit.

I'm afraid I just can't let this go....

If anything were to make me go grrrrrr, it would be people making judgments on people they don't even know.

Often people (myself included) like to talk as their dog for many reasons...sometimes to escape the real ugly, judgmental world around us and just plain have fun the way our dogs can. It's really too bad for you that it offends you so.

As for the statement "People take their kids to the doctor when it's needed"....I've read that one more than once lately and let me tell you. After working a few years in Social Work I can paint a very different picture. I used to think that mothers would do anything to protect their children. Well you know what? Many kids do without proper care, without proper meals and without adequate medical care and with this being a family site I won't even go into what some kids are put through. And it's not always handled properly when it's reported to Children's Aid and/or the police.

Some people just don't know how to care for anyone, including themselves. Therefore should not be caring for anyone, child or animal. But I am saying that without judgment because I've worked with and cared for many of these people.
