	It took a few days for Oliver to be named. We just picked names we liked of the internet. Oliver seemed to suit a little 3.5 lb dog.

	Mom named me for the color of my eyes, and also for the Isle of Skye in Scotland, since she is of Scottish heritage. It's a wonder I answer to my name, though, for all the silly ones she is always calling me

	I came with the name! My former family gave it to me and my "new" mom and dad decided to keep it....although mom has always wanted to actually name a dog "Fido". Thank heavens she didn't do that to me!

	My name comes from the Japanese word "rei" which means "soul." But Mommy wanted me to have 2 syllables, so I could learn my name better. So she added one, which has no particular meaning...

	My first Mommy (breeder) named me Bentley, because she said I was such a classy guy. My forever Mommy was going to give me a new name, but soon realized that the one I already had really fit me.

	hey... my names Mihkoa... its pronounced MICK-OW-AH. It is an Abenaki word that means Red Squirrel.... mom says its suits me for more than one reason.... the first is that im really RED.... or atleast I was really red... now Im more brown.... but mom says im the same color as the red squirell... then she says Im REAL SKWERLY.... lol.... Mom brought me home out of the blue and wasnt expecting to get a dog... so when I first came home she just called me "red dog". Everyone said that was WAY to boring for such an interesting dog.... so mom is part passemaquadee, a tribe in the Abenaki nation (native american, new england), and was reading a book on the abenaki's. So there were a bunch of translations.... and red squirrel was just it. She knew it as soon as she red it. But alot of people cant say it. They call me "Makayla", or "mickowla".... or weird things like that. Mom says if you cant say it just call me "Mihk"(mick), thats what she calls me for short!

	Where I work alot of people bring their dogs in and I actually heard a woman call her dog Stella. I really didn't think it fit her dog at all but before I got my Stella I thought it would fit for her perfectly and it does!

	It's kind of embarrassing. When Mom and Dad first got me, they stopped by the house to get a snack before going to Petsmart to get puppy stuff. I was kind of an impulse buy so they had no puppy stuff. Dad was eating Little Smokie sausages and saw on the Internet that dachshunds were bred to hunt badgers. That's how I became Badger Hunter's Little Smokie. Smoke for short. Smoke (said forcefully in a deep voice) sounds much meaner and fierce than Smokie (said in a little squeaky voice) sounds like an eenie weenie dog. Plus my colors on my back are kind of smoke colored. Good thing they weren't eating Bratwurst or liver and onions or Spam. woof woof They did say that if I was a big weenie dog, I'd have to be Oscar, Mayer or Frank(furter). doggie eyeroll Smoke (said forcefully in a deep voice) the eenie weenie dog

	I got my name because when I was a wee pup, I would get a running start and launch myself into the air with paws outstretched and land right on my big brother Gonzo. Mom said since I was a Rat Terrier and she could almost hear me saying, "Here I am to save the day!!!!" she named me Mighty Mouse. She calls me Mighty for short!

	Before mom got me, she had a couple of rat terriers she named after some of her favorite baseball players: Cami (Ken Caminiti), Wagner (Billy Wagner) and she wanted to continue that tradition, so she named me after Luis Gonzalez - Gonzo. The common thread here - all were at one time Houston Astros! Goooooooo Stro's!!!!
