|Flickamom - such an interesting underdertaking and as Anniemom said, it is definately your passion - I would be lost although I find weather fascinating. We can have snow and 4 miles away nothing -
It is that "Lake Effect" which has caused many weird things. The Blizzard of 77 was the real deal. They call many storms around here, blizzards, but they have to meet certain criteria to be a true blizzard.
Anyhow, that day, All the snow that piled on the frozen Lake Erie took off with the winds that went over 60 mph and buried the city. I never tire of reading White Death, by Erno Rossi. He is on one of my FB groups, and it is amazing as he gives the Canadian experience as well with lots of pictures.
I am having good thoughts for your son, and guess it would take some time to hear. Your backyard looks very peaceful. We are kitty corner on this lot - and the house next door is vacant and the one next door has stockade fence. Behind us is a yard, all very quiet. Abby is the noisiest thing in the neighborhood on this end, when the deer are out at night! Normally she doesn't bark.
Have bad news from Fran, Tom's brother, a pin prick size opening in the bladder that was removed last November and then Chemo until August. It is a 4 centimeter tumor that has formed and he will start radiation and chemo next week day after Christmas - poor guy - his daughter and husband will be here from CA tomorrow with their new baby girl. He isen't saying anything to them as yet, other daughter, or mother.
He spent 2 weeks there in October, and was feeling so good that all things were good. And had such a nice Thanksgiving here. The CAT scan a few weeks ago was good, too - a clean bill. So we are all saying why the Chemo didn't get this tumor before. I even had a dream last night about it, preying on my mind and I know, on Tom's. It was 2 years this month for his procedure.
I had a beautiful card from SS family and miss them! Wish that they would let us help to get the internet for them to be here at Buhens. We need support here, too.
Anniemom, so glad you had lunch with Jim's friend and tell us where you went and how is she doing? Bless her heart.
Hugs to all - you are all dear to us.
