Oh My... that picture !!!

PapaC.. do try the cold packs.. elbows do deep bruise in the bone.... and take forever to stop hurting.

If you have got good(sore is expected) radial movement and no numbness(can be some tinglies...the nerve is close to the surface) then its unlikely you have a break.... BUT.. if you have any doubts at all ... get it X-Rayed.

Elbow supports are pretty cheap in the pharmacy and will help to ease and protect.

OUCH.... I feel for you !

SargeMom, Is Downton Abbey a mystery? I have heard so much about it and will need to tune in. I have seen those poor whales on TV stuck in that one open patch of ice. I hope they get some relief soon. POP for Sarge's eye. Hope you enjoy the mall. I have become sort of a hermit lately....haven't really been to the mall for some time.

PapaC.....OMD....OUCH! I think taking an xray is a good idea...just to see what damage has been done. Had to laugh at the picture because I looked just like that bear when I fell but there was no ice! BOL Take care!

FlickaMom, sorry yesterday was a tough day! Hope all is OK. The sun is shining here and warmer temps. Maybe you will have the same today!

hug for all in need and Smooches for each and every one! kissing

Afternoon All.... wind blowing.. rain vanished... maybe snow morro.. wont be much

AnnieMum... its a story set around a big house... actually Highclere Castle. I used to live within a few miles of that place some years ago..Lord Porchester was the Queen's racing manager. His son.. now the present Lord Carnarvon LOVED racing cars... my neighbours at the time used to build them.. and he would come down and spent the night in the garage working with them,. Wonderfully unpretencious.. and I used to feed them sandwiches and coffee. ! They use to keep my motorbike at the time going !

PapaC says his shoulder is more sore now than his elbow but its improving... have sent him to get Arnica gel !

Hugsssssss for all.... take care and GET WELL for those with flu and bumps and bruises and Sarge with sore eyes...

Anniemom, it is a story of a castle - Abbey - big house and the staff (service) and the people who live there and all different plots. There are 3 daughters, mom and dad and other family - it is set when the Titanic went down. I was in love with the music too, and just the majesty of a huge place and how it 'used to be' run - before phones, etc. I think you would enjoy it and only 7 episodes per season, this now is starting the 3rd season.
Son's car sounds really nice - what color?

Hoping that dadC elbow/shoulder is better and that he can rest it over the weekend. Sounds like a jolt to the whole arm.

No word of S&S and hoping they are doing ok -

Son got his flu shot yesterday, front page today of the large numbers of people who reported as having it as to other years

Flickamom, you have let such a facinating life

a slow day today - nice relief - Tom took his mother to the hair dresser and took her microwave out and installed that. Ann (sister) will be back on Monday - and the normal routine will be back. She will like that.

Rain here today - took Sarge for a nice walk in the park area - all around, lots of good smells - he is loaded with eye drops 3 times a day - 3 kinds - crossing our fingers that Monday his eye will be better. If he does have to see the specialist, it would be for a surgical type procedure, so want to avoid that. Just a little scratch and what a mess

Have a good night all - sleep well

AbbySargeMum....I have done a fair amount with my life.. and nowhere as much as some.. but hoping there is still ambitions to be forfilled. Time tends to speed up now and just "growing older" gets in the way !! Thats something we all know about !

Hoping Sarge's eye improves. Would a surgical procedure mend it ? Or is that very "maybe" ? If so... its always hard to make the decision.

Glad things will be getting more towards normal for you.

Dear Ones ~ wave

So sorry to hear PapaC fell & hope it's only bruised...know it must be painful. Annie Mom, sorry you're still having problems with that tooth. Sarge, sweetie, hoping you'll be all better and not need any surgery for your eye. Flicka Mom,
hoping you pain has lessened. Hope dear Burt is doing ok and that Scooter Mom is well by now.

We are s l o w l y starting to come around, we think (though this flu is tricky and just when you think you're better, it comes roaring back...so taking it very easy still). Doc did give us antibiotics last week just in case of bacterial infection spinning off from the flu. Doc said he still heard lots of bronchitis & was concerned about pneumonia (as I'm susceptible to it) so I got a chest xray...all looked clear). The cough is better, head clear of congestion for the most part now, but still both of us very weak & doesn't take much to get knocked down flat again. So hoping you all can avoid it...it's hardest on us elders!

Remember we had our roof redone on Dec. 15th? Well, we've had two very strong wind storms since then (50-60 mph gusts) and in both blows shingles started flying off the roof and landed in the yard. Called the roofing man and he was
supposed to come fix it this week. On Tuesday, he was at the store buying the replacement shingles for our house, then coming here to repair. While he was at the store, he got a call from home that his house (that they'd just moved into last weekend) was on fire, so he dropped what he was doing and raced back home. Was a log home in the woods (no water available on site & had to be trucked in). The house was a total loss and burned everything they owned. The family escaped with just the clothes on their backs (thank God no one was hurt...I haven't had the courage to ask if their dog got out). He and his wife have two little ones, a 5 year old and 18 month old. They had no insurance for contents of the house yet. This happened in Romney, WV on Tuesday (we saw the story in the local paper up there online). A friend of his (also a contractor) lives in our neighborhood and brought the shingles by yesterday and is to come himself today to repair our roof. Contributions are being asked for (they need everything) so we've scoured the house and have quite a bit of things
to send up to them via our neighbor who said he'd pick the things up today when he does our roof. Sent blankets, pillows, winter jackets, bathroom towels, shower curtain & rug, box of hangers and quite a few bags of clothes (mostly women's as his wife wears same size as Mom). A large stuffed bear for the 5 year old and a little musical baby toy for the 18 mo old. That's going to be a load for Dennis to take, so will try to gather more household items during the weeks for his next trip up. Its such a shame that this happened to such a sweet young family. All his business records were lost as well as his
computer & all office equipment. I have a spare (empty) 4 drawer file cabinet from our business just sitting in the shed...will ask if they want that, too. Just terrible, but so thankful no one was hurt. Again, such good people having such a disaster...sigh!

Mom ordered Sully an elk antler on Ebay and it came this week. Boy, has that cheered him up and given him something to do. He has smiled and wagged his tail for the first time since we lost our girl and is really enjoying the antler. SO hoping this may be a turning point him.

Our car overheated while Daddy was down picking up our prescriptions and he just barely made it home. Left it to cool off overnight and filled with antifreeze the next morning. So far ok...keeping everything crossed. We were supposed to have it inspected by Dec 31, but waited too long (ahem!) and then got too sick to do anything. Will have to have that done soon
and spend at least $300 to repair side mirror (hoping & praying that's all).

My girlfriend, Margie, in Atlanta (the one whose hubby was so sick last spring) had told me she thought I'd like Downton Abby, so I watched Season 3, Episode 1 the other night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Have it set to tape following episodes. A smart show with lots of plot lines and great dialog and glorious scenery. Think you'd enjoy it, Annie Mom smile Will have to watch for Seasons 1 and 2 to be repeated. It's on PBS here on Sunday evenings. I so enjoyed The Tudors and am glad to have another period piece to watch now.

Rained lightly yesterday and continues today...we need it!

Thinking of you all always and sending love and healing wishes to all!
