Rob's leg had formed a large pad of flesh or fat deposit showing on the outside of his leg and was hindering how he could walk, as it was pushing his foot downward and he would trip - he has a screw sticking out on the side, too. He said the pain plus that impeding of his walking is what made him want it removed and the doctor agreed as it was a hindrance. Also the bone on either side of the plate can be weaker, and now that the fracture has healed, there is no need for it. I guess the one in his pelvis with several screws doesn't bother him.
Fran evidentally has an obstruction in the bowel, did CAT and other tests -
Tom went to fix his mother's stove and nothing is wrong with it, he showed her how the water simmers on both large burners equally and working fine and she gets upset, and he explained to her but she won't accept it.
So he and Ann have talked as she gets herself into a state over things and they don't know how she will be when she hears of Fran - they didn't tell her yet until they know more.
Did your son sell his house, Anniemom? How are the kids enjoying Las Vegas.
We have great weather here now, but due for a change.

Flickamom agree that the work outside is very helpful, I loved the gym for that too - just to get my endorphines reved up and do something healthy.
What are everyone's Thanksgiving plans. I guess just the 3 of us this year and a kitchen table dinner. Remembering Flicka had a lovely dinner table last year. Anniemom, are you cooking?
Scooter, glad to see you and also concerned for Dixie who is not eating, a/c to what I read, the same thing that she enjoyed just last night. Poor little thing.

Thank you for all the wishes and happy to say Rob is home without the plate amd screws - will be about 3 months to fill in the holes and become strong again. 
He is relieved that he can already tell the pain of it will be gone, after the surgery pain.
