What does "bumping" a thread mean?

	It means they are moving or "bumping" the thread to the top of the forum line so that it doesn't get forgotten, or if someone wants to help others out on a topic that was exhaustively discussed they'll bump that thread to the top so that the information is accessable to dogsters who weren't here for that discussion. Also, there's a breed matching thread that has a loooong waiting list and dogsters who started a matching thread keep bumping their thread so they can stay in line or so someone else can chime in with their ideas.
