FWIW, when I am using IE 7 and have encountered the "Operation Aborted" error on a pet page, if I use the refresh or back buttons, I can get the page to load most of the time. It's a nuisance having to do so, but at least I can view the page without having to open up another browser such as Firefox 2 and redo the search, paste the URL, etc. to get to the same page.

Hope this helps.

I started having the "operation aborted" problem 3 days ago. I would refresh my page and all was fine. Then I got a p-mail from a pal stating that he could not access my page. I immediately deleted a widget that I had put on my page 3 days ago and asked my friend to try my page again. He said all is fine now.

The widget code came from cafemom.com. I actually got 2 widgets from here and the other is fine.

Just an FYI

Oh boy I thought I was the only one that had problems. I have a new computer and it has Vista on it. It worked fine the first couple days and than it started. Some times I can get on our pages I have 2 and other days it causes many problems. Is there any one who also has trouble log in Sometimes I have to put my email address in 6 or 7 times and the password before it takes it.
I don't understand the instructions completely English is my second language. If Microsoft is going to do something about it in April I guess I wait. It would not change any of the pages that I want to go to of other dogs . I have too many friends to ask all to make changes . I sure wish I would have been able to have a new computer with XP on it , it never gave me problems like this. You can refresh till you are blue in the face or return to previous page. I found out that sometimes closing and restarting helps. I did have a update already of adobe a few days ago I even threw off some software that I these might bring interference.
Thanks for your post.wavewave

New Information!

You may have noticed that the IE Operation Aborted error doesn't appear anymore for most of you. That is because Microsoft "fixed" that error message. They replaced it with their generic "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" message and snuck it in one of their "critical" updates. confused

Don't be fooled! The problem still exists and the solution is still the same one described the first post of this thread. A sure fire way to check if this is the real problem is to use another browser like Firefox. If you can see the page with another browser, then there is most likely a widget on that page which IE still cannot handle.

Thank you soooo much, Country Cousins, for that pawsome tip. My mom HAS to have music on my page and was really getting frustrated when my page didn't load or when it errored out while loading. She removed all of the junk per your instructions and wah-la, my page loads now with no errors. This is pawfect!!! You made my mom's day, well, her early morning (it's a little after 1 a.m. here now). Thanks again! Happy dance

Dear Country Cousins,

Thank you for all the information. I was getting the "aborted" sign but now that I fixed the "object" part of the HTML code, everything seems to be fine and even loading faster.

It was soooo frustrating. Thank you again so much. snoopyhamster dancehappy danceblue dogcheer
