 |  |  |  | If you cannot feel her ribs at all when you bath her, that is too fat. With any dog you should be able to just feel the highest points of their ribs when they are wet (or always for short, smooth coated dogs) the points of their hips as well, except in very muscular, well exercised animals. Squishy is never good, that is either too fat or not enough exercise causing soft muscles. A dog should be firm to the touch (think medium well steak firm) and the points of their bones should just be felt if the have thin, sleek coats or are wet. |  |  |  |  |
