 | | | | Small dogs and big dogs in the same household playing together is one thing; playing with unfamiliar dogs of dramatically different size is another matter. A big dog who isn't familiar with little dogs, or a little dog who isn't familiar with big dogs, can create problems. But even when dogs of different sizes are normally good with each other, in a dog part situation, the big dogs running, playing, and roughhousing in a completely normal, appropriate way, can get carried away and forget about the need to be careful with the little ones, or completely accidentally run over them.
Socializing your little dog with big dogs is a good thing. Letting them play with unfamiliar or just excited big dogs in a dog park, not so much. | | | | |
