|to explain the situation: The owner of the dogs has no one he trusts with the dogs. I have told him that I will be euthanizing the older dog for finacial and medical reasons. That is if this dog doesnt die when the owner dies. The Owner understands my reasoning for this.
I have also explained that while I love Bandit dearly she is NOT my type of dog. I want an active dog, one that wants to go on long walks one that isnt scared of EVERYTHING. He understands that, he also knows push come to shove I am going to do whats right by this dog come h**l or high water. I just dont like her I love her but dont like her.
I think I may have a family that will adopt her... they have a 8 year old daughter that wants a fashion accessory purse dog thing. Which is what Bandit likes. She likes to be carried ect. She hates walks, actually isnt house broken yet because she is scared outside and wont go... Her owner has just put puppy pads down where she goes. So I will have to properly pad train her, or litter box train her. Anyways Bandit is happiest at home or being carried, she likes car rides but has to be trained to ride in the back (and not whine ect while there)Her owner currently allows her to ride on his lap while he is driving. I will have to get her groomed and vetted (I need her teeth worked on). The family also feeds their current pets raw so I will have to switch her from wet to raw (he doesnt feed kibble at all).
So what it looks like will happen with Bandit is that I will have the owners sign an adoption contract (I used to have a ferret rescue... so I will modify that adoption contract and have a notary public sign it making it legal) Train groom and vet this dog. Then have them pay a small adoption fee and have her acclimate to them over a period of about 2 months.
Bandit will go to them with toys, harness and leash, crate, pads or litterbox, microchipped and tattooed, spayed (as she is not yet her Owner wanted to breed her at some point and is still half assedly looking for a male yorkie... hope he doesnt find one...So I may have pups to get homes for too argh I guess I will cross that bridge when I get to it right) ect ect. If anyone can think of any other training I should put on her, and any other items she may need to go to her new people that would be great. Training can and is starting right now as they are in my care as we speak.
Thank you for all input both positive and negative.
