	Happy 4th! Although it's hard to be happy that it sounds like the world is exploding every night this week. But that's ok b/c mommy doesn't seem to mind (too much) that when she is tryting to do anything I have to plaster myself in her lap. I guess 4th of July is a holiday that many of us shibas can make up for all our year-round aloofness and suddenly become needy lap dogs for a few nights

	Hope everypup survived all of the explosions. Dad took Minx and I out to watch and show us that it was no big deal. It seemed to help. Raven on the other hand looked like this

	Mom left Faye at home because she knew that Faye would probably have a heart attack. She absolutely HATES fireworks. Mom left the a/c, the tv, and the radio on for her so she wouldn't hear the fireworks. I think Mom left the tv on a channel that aired fireworks though. The irony. Mom took me to my grandparents and it was GREAT! There was bbq, hotdogs, burgers and all sorts of different food. Since I was so good, everyone kept giving me food! I even managed to steal a WHOLE RIB, but Dad caught me and took it away. As he grabbed it out of my mouth, I did manage to take a HUGE piece of meat for me!!!! I was too quick for Dad! We watched fireworks in the neighborhood. My doggie cousins were so scared, but not me! I just sat there and watched! Mom had a sparkler, but I wanted to check if it was edible. I took it out of Mom's hand before she had a chance to light it. It was not edible. I also wanted to eat this thing called fire, but Mom also said that it was not edible. Apparently, fireworks are not edible. Why then are they such a big deal?
