I was pondering names for my girl and I listed up these ones.

I'm kind of partial to Saki, you can spell it sake too but that confuses me lol. It's the japanese wine.
Or Socki

Saki, and Sushi sound pretty good together
What do you think?

Luna
Clover
Shasta
Mitsu - bear
Nanuk/Nanook

Mochi - a sticky rice

Did you know naming your dog a human name is considered disrespectful in Japanese culture? lol

I would really like to name her after a japanese food or drink, to match Sushi, it doesn't have to start or end with particular letters or anything, or ryme. If you find something let me know.

If you're going for the Japanese food theme, how about:

Tako (octopus [yum])
Saba (mackarel [yum!!!])
Hotate (scallop [double yum!!!])
Soba
Nigiri

I'm making myself hungry. smile

I like sake! Sushi & Sake, what a good combination.

Your tidbit about Japanese culture & naming of dogs reminded me of my parents. They are Taiwanese & when they were children, dogs there were given English names, such as John & Mary.

I know sake is suppose to be pronounced Sah-keh,
So would it be wierd to pronounce it Socki for a name?

Maybe if I spelled it Saki no one would know I mean the wine.laugh out loud

I like the idea of naming her after chopsticks lol

It may sound silly, but I've always thought the pup helps pick the name. In part it is a name they respond to, but it is also a name that fits thir personality. Given that, I might be getting some general ideas in my head, but I'd also be waiting for the pup to tell you what it's name is.

I named Sushi 3 months before I got him how sad is that? bol.

I named a dalmatian Riley before I knew his personality and after that he completely lived up to the name and I regretted it and should have named him sleepy or dozer or calmdown LOLblue dog

I think Wasabi is too long, but Hashi and Saki are good, whether I would pronounce it sak-eh or socki I dunno hamster dance
