	How do you measure the height of your dog? Ace and Nova are almost a year old now, but I'm not sure how tall they are. Ace is 21 pounds, and Nova is 31 (although I swear some days that half of that is his undercoat, which is currently coming out in gobs!)

	You measure their height at their withers, that is the point between the shoulder blades where at the base of the neck. An easy way to do that at home is to get a ruler or other thin hard object (a wooden spoon, piece of dowel, etc.). Have the dog stand naturally (you want them to stand up tall without you holding them up and without them crouching down) beside a wall. Lay the ruler across their shoulders and hold the end against the wall, parallel to the ground. Mark that spot on the way, move the dog out of the way, and measure the distance from the ground.

	Momo is 19.5" and 33.1 pounds. When he came out of rescue last September, he was 27 pounds and really skinny. He went up to 37.5, which wasn't fat, but dropped down to 34 pounds when he went raw....even though he eats ALL the time! LOL, I guess it's just much healthier food now.

	I have 7 shelties. One is 12 and she is 13 inches at the shoulder and weighs 17lbs, Holly is 8 and is 14" at shoulders and weighs 23lbs, Maizie is 12" at shoulders and weighs 15lbs, Telly is 2.5 is 13" at shoulders and weighs 17lbs, Rockstar is 3.5, 15 " at shoulders and weighs 25lbs, Kimmi is 11 is 14" ay shoulders and weighs 26 lbs, FoxMan is 2.5 is 13.5 : at shoulders and weighs 22 lbs.

	i am 2 1/2 almost three i am a very large sheltie i am 18 inches in height and i weight around 25 and 30 pound.I changed my food to orijin fish and he hasn't put any weight in he's a one good size know.
